I will never understand why people wait in lines for days or where they even get the time for this just to be the first people to own something or see something new that's coming out. Yeah, I'm sure the XBox 360 is an awesome piece of machinary but it will be just as good a year from now when I buy mine (waiting so hopefully the price will drop). There has been many things that I have wanted desperatly when they first came out but never found the need to have to wait in a long line just to recieve it. I guess I'm just lazy and very impatient.

Anyway, congratulations on your purchase. I only hope that this system can bring you as much enjoyment as FFXI.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. You see it as how can we buy stuff that no one has tested to see if its worth it or spend that amount of money when you can wait and get it cheaper. I see it as how can you wait! How can you see how fun and innovative this system is and not have one! I realize that for some people money is a huge factor (not saying it is for you, just generalizing) and then I can understand that they have no choice. But if you have the funds, your an avid gamer/technofile, and this system is coming out.......how can you NOT buy it!!?

Well with 20 hours of 360 under my belt, I'm dog assed tired!! I'm taking a bath and going to bed after I'm done with my email and the forums! LOL No FFXI for me today!

And after 20 hours of 360 I can say in all certainly that...............

IT F**KING ROCKS!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Omg the graphics on some games are frigging AMAZING!! You watch the intro and think "oh the game won't be that good" but then the gameplay comes on and your like "WTF!!? this looks almost as good as the vid!!" I watched my son playing NBA Live 06 for an hour and for 1/2 that time I stared at the court floor!! I was so FREAKING AMAZED!! I felt like I could reach out and touch the damn thing and it would feel smooth like glass. The shadows and reflections of EVERYTHING on it were just jaw dropping amazing. Kameo was GORGEOUS!! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! Crisp, clear, colorful, great control, crazy, and cool innovative gameplay! Love the Ice element guy that looks like a blue hairy gorilla with spikes on his back. You take the trolls and toss them up in the air and they land on the spikes on your back. Then when you run into more badies you take one off you back and use it like a club, swinging it around and smashing the other bad guys. Or like a missle and pitch it at mobs or the ceiling, etc. And that is just one of the creatures you can turn into! Call of Duty 2 didn't wow me as much. I mean its a warzone how graphically beautiful can it be. LOL But it was a nice improvement over the last one but I didn't play it.

Then the dashboard for Live is UNFREAKIN BELIEVABLE! To be able to just d/l a demo of a game/or trailers and play it is worth it right there! The convienece of being able to see who's online, when they were online last, etc is so nice. You can even send them voice messages instead of text if you want. I guess the one thing that bristled me was the fact that they sell you themes and stuff. It wasn't a lot of money most of the time but come on!! There are several ones already on the system but if you want more, fork over the dough! But the dashboard is so easy to use that even my technology handicapped hubby could do it and he enjoyed it too! LOL

I have to say I was a bit put off by the amount of money I plunked into this sucker. I've been around a while and I've bought systems, back in the day, for $300 and then have them flop shortly after. Putting $700 into this system had me weak in the knees!! But I am satisfied and I can't wait for more and more games and demos. I didn't even get into how you can stream music from your computer to the 360 either! Another awesome feature! If you have Windows Media Center there are even more perks to the system! Excellent buy and I'd do it again!

I'd also like to note that some people were saying there were issues with demo units getting overheated. Well I can say I gave mine a thorough workout (on and played with for 20+ hours) and never had a single issue. I even touched the unit after I turned it off and it was not overly warm at all.

Btw, the first ones on Ebay went for 1475 and 1525. Then someone put in an extra 0 and bid 10100 dollars. I guess paying attention when bidding thousands of dollars is too much to ask.
TB, does PDZ have the challenges and stuff like the original? Thats what made the game in my opinion. We'd play for hours a night going through the challenges. And I dont mean like 4 on 4 CTF, like 4-8 against 4-8 HIGHLY skilled npc's. I think that can be more fun imo and what I was most looking forward to in this one.
As far as Imp's comment on Halo2....BLASPHEMY! Though I do somewhat understand. It took them 3 years to make it, and it wasnt as awe inspiring and didnt have NEAR as much stuff as it was originally leaked it was going to. Online play is what made that game great.

I really waffled with PDZ. I had seen some trailers and I had some doubts so I steered to CoD2 instead. I figured I would wait on PDZ and see how it went. Well 3 of the friends on my Live list hated it and said they were trading it back in for something else asap. So maybe it was a good thing I waited a bit....

Yeah i was real skeptic of PDZ too. Though I'm hearing at first people dislike it cause the controls are confusing and tough, but once that clicks it becomes a really good game apparently. Guess I'll rent it instead of buy it right off hand.

Yeah they do have challenges. Like on the first mission, you have to identify these enforcers but you cant be seen yourself. You can complete the mission with being seen and it gives you no penalty. ALso it dosent clearly state that sneeking around is a challenge that you have to meet. but if you do complete the mission without being seen then you get something (i think, i havent beaten the meission without being seen).

Online is the mad viscious. all the detail you see offline you see online.

Some people on messages boards are complaining about some games crashing. Seems like the forums are flooded with that type of stuff, but only because the people who actually have a working 360, are playing it, and not going to any of the forums. So far, mine's performed great. I've had it on so long to, always finding something new in the dashboard, or in the games to play with. Like playing music from my PC, and using it as a custom soundtrack in games for xbox 360 is awesome. Don't even have to rip the music onto the hard drive, it plays on the 360, streaming across the network from my PC. Really great.

Recent polls says that video on MGS4 -lost- fans. I don't think it will be that epic of a game release. Next largest release I'm banking on is going to be.... Gran Turismo 5 for PS3.

Aiming, run speed, weapon management, physics, etc. etc. is so drastically different in halo than the mainstream FPSs such as CS, Quake, UT and the like. To compare them is like comparing apples and sushi.

Halo might have been different, but Halo 2 is just another mindless FPS with a terrible plot. Bungie said it themselves they wanted it to be a game that everybody can enjoy, and what's another game that everybody enjoys? World of Warcraft. You have to dumb things down substantially if you want a majority of players to enjoy it, and that's just selling out in my opinion.

Wait... nevermind, in the year I owned halo2, I havn't even beaten the Single Player missions yet.

Lol, it took me till November 8th 2004 to beat Halo's Single Player mission. Now, If I can just dig up my old spreadsheet with names and kill numbers and deaths and such (how we used to keep track of records in my dorm).
