          Re: Just giggled a little.

Bahamut is the important one. The other four(or five, one is not named I believe) are just his children and don't need storyline. Tiamat however fights a Mithra Sin Hunter.

Now to keep it fair, lets compare an important character, and how deep that is, to Mr.Huggles-The-Dreaded-Dragon.

Fair would be comparing Lethon with Genbu or one of those four. They fill a similar role in their respective games. It's a safe assumption that the four rogue greens are just there to guard entrances to the Emerald Dream (future content) and have a little back story. If I'm not mistaken, you need to kill the four gods to get to Kirin. Lethon released one year after launch, Genbu... two years. They both look silly as hell.

Oh, I missed something. Vrtra does have a story around him. It grew over time.

At the games release, they mentioned a black dragon guarded the real tomb of King Ranperre. Three years later Vrtra was released. Then there was an article about Vrtra(recently).

There is something called a Vanadiel Tribune that explains a lot.

                Orayui

There is no reason that WoW couldn't use Tiamat, Bahamut, Vrtra, Fafnir, etc... All those are originally from various mythologies. Tiamat is Babalonian, Bahamut is Muslim, Vrtra is Hindu, and Fafnir is Norse mythology. They are definatly in the clear to use those names, same with Bune and likely just about any significant named monsters you can think of.

The ones WoW would be risking is if they used something like Moogle, Chocobo, Mithra, Galka, and selected NM monsters (such as Jaggedy-Eared Jack, Leaping Lizzy, Hoo Mjuu the Torrent, etc..). Very few actually from FFXI that WoW could not use. Even a common monster like Mandragora in FFXI they are safe to use since it is an old Greek word basically means "hurtful to cattle", no way SE could have licensing rights to words and mythology that old.

If that was possible then many companies before SE stole the names from SE already >.>

                EDIT:

To add more specifically WoW can use those names, but they can't use them in a similar lining story design as SE is using them.

Also to add Vrtra seems to be a very appropriate name for that dragon guarding that tomb, since Vrtra (Sanskrit, "storm cloud") is a dark cloud of ignorance and sloth personified by a demon serpent.

                  FFXI, anyone?
lol not the strongest. All the bosses from BWL are considerably tougher.

The toughest part about the 4 dragons is the entire point of them being "outdoor raid bosses". Expect other guilds to grief you with every chance they get. So I take back my previous words.

Yes they're indeed the most difficult! (If you play on a pvp server)
