  • For you first person shooter's.

Did a search and didnt find anything here related to this topic so I'm gunna share the wealth.

    Calling all FPS's!

I was watching E3 05 on Tech Tv. a while back and low and behold, F.E.A.R. It stands for First Encounter Assault Recon. Now, before I got into FFXI I was a HUGE FPS fan. Played Half-life and Counter Strike for about 4 years, well since about 1.3 anyways, but if your like me now and own Half-Life2 or Halo2 then you'd be wise to swing by your local EB Games and snag a copy of this when it comes out in early Oct. Here's the link to the site:

My thoughts: This game, through its incredible engine, gameplay, and its "unique, Slo-Mo capabilities" makes Halo2 look like Pong for the atari. This games brings FPS's and stuff that nightmares are made of, together.

And whats more? zomg theres a playable demo for you all to wet yourselve's over. Just check the link I posted above for the download itself. Enjoy ^^

I've played the F.E.A.R. demo (terrible name, hehe) and I liked the game, but I think it's a little overrated. However, that was just the single player demo, and I'm sure multiplayer would be a lot more enjoyable in multiplayer.

I would have to agree with you there. Im sure the multiplayer version will own up when it comes down to it. But have you seen the spec's required inorder to run this game properly? Im on a HP Pavilion 250n with an Ati Radeon 9600XT, and 512MB Ram. Thats barely pushing it. Im about to drop $400 for a new x850 XT here in the near future but since the game also REQUIRES 512MB ram I might as well spend another $100 on two sticks of 250 ( << on a dual port motherboard ). But never the less, the graphics in this game are just breath taking. They say that in 2006, your PC will no longer hold a higher status in the gaming community, when it come to graphics. I hope that does not hold true. But looking at the demo vid's from E3 05 for the PS3, makes me think otherwise ; ; /cry

Re: For you first person shooter's.

I played both demos, they had a multiplayer demo and also a single player demo. Multiplayer demo is sorta like whoever gets the device with the slomo and sniper plasma rifle wins.

In the normal game the slomo feature is basically your "honed training" skill. But in the Demo it's a device that needs to charge up before you can use it, and your whole team gets it. You spawn like Quake (all over the map) & spawn quite often.
