ok all ive decided to get the $399 system since you dont get nearly as much for $299 (better to have it all at once ya know? lol) So i went to EB today and asked the guy about reservations. He told me if i reserve now i'd probably not get my own 360 for awhile or atleast not on release day. But hopefully if i reserve it sometime next week, i can get my system within the 1st week of its release. Also, will the system come with a free demo disk? i dont want to buy the games YET. (for a couple days or so)

The 299 dollar version is a joke. It's so stripped down and worthless that it's not even worth buying. To any serious gamer at all, especially one who wants to play FFXI, the 299 dollar xbox360 might as well not even exist. Yay marketing gimmicks.

The 299 dollar version is a joke. It's so stripped down and worthless that it's not even worth buying. To any serious gamer at all, especially one who wants to play FFXI, the 299 dollar xbox360 might as well not even exist. Yay marketing gimmicks.

It's pretty sad but mostly true. Unless you really have no plans of going online, I really encourage people to buy the 399 version. Chances are if you buy the core system at 299, you'll just end up buying all the other stuff to catch up to the 399 one later, spending more than you would have initially had you bought the 399 one.

On top of that I'm sure some game developers will make pretty demanding games, ones which will rely on the HDD to get the full potential. Meaning unless you have the 399 one, you'd have to buy the HDD just to play it anyway.

why do players buy systems right when they come out? there are little to no games out. an that price is outragous. i always wait for my system to drop in price an for games to come out for it.

Because I can? Money isn't an issue so why should I deny myself the pleasure of playing right away? I understand not everyone has this luxury though and I sympathize.

As for console I could get both like GrandMom is going too, but I still do not have any intrest in Xbox360. I'm waiting for the PS3

As for why getting a console without many variety issue, that's kind of non-existent with PS3 since it's backward compatible with PS1 and PS2 that's quite a huge game list already to boot with it. Just you get to run it on a system with a great deal more power then any game console has ever had before.

lol challenge it if you want to macht. i stated that some of us ( that would be me ) can easily afford it on nothing more the part of a days pay. its that some of use choose not to for a few reasons. such as the stupidly outragous cost, an the lack of decent games. i know myself that i wait because there is next to no RPG's released months, even yrs after a release.

marketing, microsoft knows buy selling a pretty stripped down version as the lowest price will probably make people buy the "premium edition" for $100 more which includes a lot more than the core system does.

I'm not getting any console until they have games out I want. The more it costs the more games I'm interested in before I buy the console. I have a hard time (mentally, not due to funds) spending over $200 for a console. If it has enough good games I'll get it for $300. Higher than that, and it will take a LOT more than just "good specs" and will need an assload of games I'm interested in to justify the price for me.

Of course, those that buy each and every console that comes out, more power to you, I used to be the same way. Of course at that time it was $200-$300 consoles, and they didn't exceed that price period.

Now that I heard what Xbox360 and Playstation3 will cost, I still want to hear the Revolution's price.

That's all opinion as far as most are concerned. Would Xbox have survived without DOA3 or Halo...? Those were system movers.
As Perfect Dark Zero(32 people online, i know pales in comparo to MMO, but for a console game..) and a few others i'm sure will do the same for Xbox360

Good, Bad, Quality, all Opinions, no matter how you slice it. One game may justify a system for some people. (Conker's Bad Fur Day for Xbox for me... even though i still have AND play the N64 version).

Otherwise, play nice. your money is yours and their money, etc.... you get the idea.
