Translation: Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus Beta Test.

It's only on PS2 though. But....it raises the question, do you need POL viewer to run the actual game? Or, can you only get the beta test through the POL viewer. Anyways, I don't think they ship beta kits to the U.S. So I'm mad, and some lucky people in Japan are being accepted as we speak.

Xbox sales in Japan are lower than the reqiured height to ride Michael at Neverland Ranch, that's why we get the beta test first.

Or it could be that the company is based in the US and thats why we get to beta test FFXI first??

And no the beta test kits do not ship to the US. And yes that is confirmed.

Well TheGrandMom, if you think about it, the company that makes the software is japanese. Why would SE make the beta test in english first, instead of Japanese? It's because Xbox sales in Japan are rock bottom. If you think about it, SE would probably have liked to see things closer to home and see how they go.

Exactly better to test in a location with thriving sales then one that's basically dead. A dead location will give you bad and in-accurate results to how well the game will actually sell. Since Xbox sales in Japan is basically dead, or at the least the worst of them all it's the worst to test in. Well ofcourse that also depends on what the intention of the test is, if it's to poke at a something dead or dying to see if it moves then that's a different story.

              Double Post Edited:
Being that SE is the one really making the profit in putting their game on the XBox 360 that tells me that SE wants their Beta Test to also give them a hint on how well it'll sell on that system. They are not intrested in seeing if their game revives a dying market, that is more of Microsofts intrest which will probably be visible by any means of trying to get SE to release the game sooner or something.

I look at it differently obviously. Using your logic that X sales are low in Japan, which I know they are, then beta'ing FFXI in Japan would boost sales. Since Sony no longer supports FFXI on the PS2, they could snag people with this and interest them in the 360. Japan loves rpg's so the best way to boost the interest would be with a test such as this. So you see, there are 2 sides to every coin.

If they're doing the beta testing here in NA, what do you have to do to be a beta tester? Where do I sign up!!!????

But there is no point for a company that creates games to focus their testing to assist a company that creates the consoles. In some cases it might happen if a certain agreement is made between the two companies but it doesn't always work that way. If that really was the point then the companies making the game consoles would not have to consistently entice the game developers to put games on their system.

Other then that the game developers and console makers are still seperate entities. So you shouldn't always consider them as one.
