I don't think so Buddy. If they do,Wich I highly Doubt It will ever happen, It's going to be like taking $1 dollar out of their Bank Account wich has Billions. They had no reason to shut it down.

Now fans making a remake of the game infringes on their intellectual property. You understand that someone's property is their's and their's alone right? They get to decide what they want to do with it. It's like you owning a car, you get to choose if someone borrows it or not right? Well they have that choice too. So if they choose to not let someone make a verbatim remake of their game, that is their legal choice.
What your not understanding is that by protecting their intellectual property, they have the option of doing a remake of their own at any time they choose. Therefore making money off that property when they choose to. By letting someone else use thier intellectual property for free and handing it out to others, it lowers the value of their intellectual property. So that IS money out of their pocket. If someone makes a remake of CT and SE is planning on making one of their own down the road, well who is going to buy it when you can get one for free. So, again, that IS money out of their pockets.
And it doesn't matter how much money it takes out of their pocket. It's still money out of their pocket. How about you go to the store and give the clerk a $20 for $13.50 worth of items. The clerk decides to give you back $5.50 and keep a $1 for herself. Your going to just say, "Hey thats ok, np!". I highly doubt it. Now multiply that by every store you go to everyday for the rest of your life. Oh wait, that $1 adds up and your on the losing end. But "Hey thats ok, np!" I don't think so. So why should they have to give up money? Because people said so?
Ok and btw, reading comprehension is your friend. My name is TheGrandMom. Sorta indicates I'm a woman don't it? So next time you might want to think of a better quip than "Buddy".
