Re: The Next-Gen War has Begun!
Ya, its the Sept. 2005 issue. It's on page 8 "8 Things You Don't Know About PS3...But Probably Should". I'll post them for people that don't receive the mag or don't read up on the PS3 that often.
1) No more memory cards. They are going with the Memory Stick Pro Duo just like the PSP.
2) The peripheral's of the PS1 and PS2 will not work with the PS3. Well, until someone makes a PS2-USB adapter.
3) The specs aren't set in stone.
4) The HDD won't be for games.
5) The PSP will be used as a remote.
6) There will be a TiVo-like add-on. They say that if you on a trip and program it do d/l your favorite shows, you can access them via the internet and d/l them into your PSP from your PS3.
7) Most games will be 720p.
8) Speed or quality: It's your call. Talking about the being able to change the resolution of some games.
Of course, much of this is old news. But I had not heard about the HDD not being used for games. It would be nice to know in more detail whats going on but as always, we have to wait and see.
Oh and this is PSM (Playstation Magazine), not OPM (Official Playstation Magazine) in case anyone wants to pick one up.
