And Xbox is somewhere in the middle.

It's pretty obvious that there's really no way, unless you go rummaging through meteors for alien technology for something that small to even come close to the powers, of xbox360 or PS3.

Meaning the aesthetic appeal of the Rev is more of my liking than of the other 2 systems. Specs aren't even hinted at in my original post.

It's a box, there is no indication of any sort of power, or exention.

Yeah, but it's a pretty stylish box. After all, it's Nintendo's intention to make a gaming system that's small and quiet, yet powerful, and that won't overshadow the rest of the stuff in your living room.

My cable modem looks better then it.

In terms of style, an all minimalist nature is self defeating because it doesn't make it important. Which is your selling point. It doesn't "radiate" anything, a nonscript glance over.

At least the PS3 has a bose like nature that tells you you should get a HDTV surroundsound, and a nice lazyboy chair with it.

The xbox360 looks alien-ish which has a weird sense of 21century appeal.

I like the GC better, with it's handle, glow from inside light, and round controller ports, and you can't miss the pun on cube.

For your tastes yes, I was talking about my tastes as was Pai and the others. For my tastes I prefer the looks of the Rev out of all the systems. This has nothing to do with their specs at all.

Well excluding the PS3's nice specs and the Xbox360's specs and just going for it's looks. Then I agree the Revolution is quite nice compact system won't draw your attention away from the TV screen.

The PS3 I also have to agree it does entice the purchase of the new HDTVs and all since most places sell the gray casing type HDTVs so the PS3 does kind of acompany it quite nicely.

The PS3 also entices the purchase of an HDTV because it would be a travesty to play it on a regular TV.

Well it's about time for HDTV to shine.

I remember a report that by next xmas season prices will drop as much as half as the general public is finally embracing HDTVs enough to put it in "economics of scale" critical mass.

With more "insentives" to get a hdtv, it'll just speed things alone.

Well we'll all be rich if we can predict the future, but never a better time to pick up a fancy new TV, ne?

For those of you who can't really afford HDTV, there are old model CRT HDTVs... They're not that great, and take up much more watts then LCD and plasmas, but hey, they're cheap.

Exactly and between CRT, LCD, LCOS, Plasma, DLP, and Projection each has their advantage and disadvantage. CRT HDTVs actually can beat some of the LCD equivalents since CRT is more capable of reaching True Blacks. Cost wise though CRTs are the best.

Only thing that I know thats official is 360: 300 for base 400 for extras. Supposedly sony said ps3 would "not be for the everyday gamer" and implied it would cost a LOT like over 600, but that may have just been a ploy to get MS to raise their price some on 360 and let them get comfy with a price they thought would be a lot lower than ps3. As for revo, I'm not sure any price has been quoted yet. All I've heard is speculation running somewhere around 200.

Xbox360 prices was posted a little earlier.

PS3 prices are right now in a big circle of misinformation. Amazon listed their PS3 at 299(stupidity or cleverness?) some anaylist chimed in at 400, while still more are bidding it up and down the scale.

Revolution from all indication will be cheaper then both of them, so 200 sounds about right. Everything about Rev shows it to be a light and affordable, rather then multimedia monster. Probably the reason they're keeping so hush hush on the specs, they know they can't win anywhere, just bad PR at this point.

Revolution should do well as long as it has connectivity, and more games that take advantage of it.

I honestly think that as long as Nintendo keeps making solid Zelda, Mario, and Metroid games that ppl like myself who really started playing the original 8-bit console in elementary and beyond will stick around for a long time and continue to by the new consoles just to play these games. (You have to admit the action and storylines form games like zelda and metroid were light years beyond games from atari and colecovision like pong, joust, and digdug though digdug was pretty damn fun).
