I gotta say Tactics and FF4
But Delita was a good anti-hero. He even says he is, " We are flowing in same stream, I'm just swiming against the current."
    something to that effect.
He gets his in the ending though, hehe.

Kefka didn't kill everybody, he killed a reasonable amount yeah, but so did Golbez with the Red Wings in FF4.
    Remember Edward's hometown? Remember Yang's?
Remember all those lives lost? Remember Rydia's? ALL Golbez's plans...okay Zeromous planned them but Golbez implemented them.

All Golbez dude and Tellah counts I guess even if he did blow himself up to try to take out Golbez. (try if key word)
Lv 10 Monk LV 18 Red Mage Lv 6 warrior Lv 6 Black mage Lv 4 White mage.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks FFVI owns. Every player character (and even some non-playable ones i.e. Leo) had a memorable back story.

... I think I'll go replay FFVI now.

I've been replaying FFIV. It's been my favorite. Though FFVI definitely has the best story and characters. To actually see all of Shadow's dreams and figure out who he really is? Priceless. FFVII just can't compare. FFVII was all about the new graphics at the time.

Tactics. By miles and miles. Then VII. X is up there too... I like how the focus is on a character you do not directly control.

I forgot how much I had loved FFVII...... I replayed it and its like..... whoa..... there will never be another story like it.... same with FFVIII I wish i could play it but i just can't... its messed up beyond regonition.. FFVII is like one of those games that you get so into that when somehing good happens you jump for joy when something bad happens you shed a tear.. You all get me?

I gotta say, I love FFVIII. I don't know why so many people blatantly hate it (It's always the same, "JUNKSUHN SUKX, TEH HERO PPLZ R GH4Y, BAD SOTRY, TEH SUKKZ") Now I'm not saying that the points made in the parenthesis reflect anything people have said in this thread, most of those are said by random idiots in FFXI or some of my friends FFVII was good, I just cannot stand how some people think that it is the measuring rod of all RPG's... "Yeah sure, it was good, but not FFVII good!" "Yeah, he was badass, not as badass as Seph though!". I guess the word "Overrated" applies to FFVII. (Think Halo people)

I liked FFVIII because of it's mature story, and sort of depressed feel throughout the game. The music was really good (I loved the Timber music), it really helped the story flow. The Junction system was alright, I wasn't a particular fan of drawing my spells from monsters.

FFX was a great game in my opinion. It really brought a lot of great things to RPG's, and improved on some existing things. The story was good, though not the best at times, the ending was great. I liked how the story was told, it felt more like a movie than a game.

                      Gotta go with FFVIII

Final Fantasy FFXI is my favorite storyline .

Second place would have to be FFT, and third either 6 or 7. But in truth I like them all, a lot.

The thing with FFVIII is that Squall was like the person we see everyday, he hit close to home for alot of folks. he looked normal, So did the rest of his crew.
ffVIII is one of my favs also.

Cloud on the other hand was like a dragonball z nightmare come true, complete with spiky hair.
Sephiroth was just icing , thats why many think FFvII is so good. It wasnt that great to me, CID and vincent and tiffa rocked though.

After completing the latest Promathia mission, I must say with my whole heart that FFXi is becoming the best to me, Since it focuses on me and that helps alot, I realte to me alot more than to everyother FF character ^^
                          It's Official Promathia Hates me....

I think once they put the three wise men(Shantotto, Yoran, and Kotou...ugh forget how to spell the last one name right Flanders guy) and the three new tarutaru siblings in one cutscene... they surpass anything fanboi service they could have ever done.

Also I don't like the idea of saying FFVII was a stupid game because of reasons like "Well, cloud's hair was spikey... that is all DBZ like, which is stupid kid stuff". Well you would be just as bad them for letting some graphic block off your views on a great game.

Also I found myself going against my own words. Just about all the FF storylines are wonderful in their own way. They are all different, but with same feel, making them relative while so new. What I really mean is, I like how FFXI presented its storyline the best.
