Yes mandys will be in FFXII. If you want a demo, preorder Dragon Quest 8 and you'll get a FFXII demo when the game is released on Nov. 22nd. I have played DQ8 and it is AWESOME! If you can snag a demo for it, they are out there now at game stores or you can go to the official site and have one sent to you.

FFVIII wasn't my favorite but it was one of my favorites. I'm currently playing FFIX again because I got near the end way back when it came out and then my memory card went poof! Ticked me off so much I never finished it. lol

I couldn't stand FFIX for some reason. The billions of cut scenes during the beginning and the fact that main character didn't have a sword sorta whacked my intrest in it. He also had a tail and looked like snotty monkey. >_<

Others tell me it was good though, so I can't really judge it.

I think thats happened on every FF gave I've played. FFVII, had it on pc, pc crapped out and wouldnt play it anymore...never played 8, never got into 9, FFX I was all but done with the story line, just trying to lvl characters and beat the extra cave, friend borrowed memory card to play a game, I told him he could erase everything but FFX and one other game, I get it back and the whole damn thing was blank. FFX-2 I'm not really sure one, I think I played it, then got FFXI so I just quit. Almost done with FFVII again though, playing it on ps2 now, so hopefully I'll finish it this month.
Have there been any more updates on the battle system for XII? Somewhere I heard it was going to be like tactics or something.

Rent Dragon Quest VIII it has a demo of FFXII on it see for your self. I think the game play is awesome even though you only play for a couple missions. But no matter how much you want it to be more like one ff than the others you will still buy and most likely love the game.

It's funny because of playing too much FFXI, I need to readjust when I play another game. I use a controller with FFXI and when I play another PS2 game I tend to manipulate the controller like I'm playing FFXI. What was funny was that I did this with FFXII and didn't realize until later that it worked! The controls handled much the same way FFXI does so it was a smooth transition.

The battles have active or wait, which is pretty easy to figure out. Wait means you can take your time choosing your option and active means that you have to be a bit quicker on your toes. You can choose what your 2 team members do also but the AI is pretty decent. You'll see a lot of mob names that your familiar with and some will even look familiar. I just wish they would have had the same "UH OH" that the mandy's do in FFXI.

I will say that some people will not care for the game. They have gone pretty much mainstream and tweaked the game more for mass appeal. But being the FF fanatic that I am, I will still buy it and play it. I whined when I played the JP FFX too but I got over it and enjoyed it. Heck I even bought FFX-2! /groan! I'm sure some of the whiners for this version will get over it but you'll always have the purists pissing and moaning.
