Yeah, it does look a little out of place. I saw someone with their sig to the right, absolutely hate it.

You know what, i'm gonna try to make the image a big narrower, but longer, see if it still works as a shot.

you can till see the reflection of it in the photo, and it also shows that there's another one off to the left.

Personally, I think the flame itself is kinda detracting from the photo by taking focus away from the candesance.

The original idea was to split the demon in cliche samurai/ninja kill style, but at that size I had to exaggerate or embellish the split so much to make it noticable that it just looked silly. At least I was able to show the demon on one knee.


Lambeaus, sig looks good, and I remember taking that exact same screenshot my first time on an airship. ^^ I wonder what all the stuff on it represents, though. Like, I see the POL crystal, and I think I recognize the Oblivion logo. What's the bottom one? Tempest 2000? O_o What're the 5 star moogle and 6558 for?

Ryddr, yeah, that's the idea. ^^ As soon as I make one more like this in GM armor, I'm gonna get Stromgarde's help to randomize my sig between the images. Should be cool with "Lago of Lakshmi" always being in the exact same place only changing color, and the other elements staying generally the same too.

No, I don't hate sam, I just don't really have any interest in it and it doesn't really synergize with my other jobs well. I don't enjoy DD jobs that much, even blm. Taru don't make the best sams either. I think the only job we have more uncompensated disadvantages in is mnk. If I were to play a DD job, sam would probably be my second choice after blu. ^^

Feba, I agree with Ryddr about the light. It balances the image against the candysense. Without it I don't even look over there to see your cropped taru. The wide version is blurry, too. Did you stretch it?

No, I made a copy of the background, put a 2px gaussian blur on the background, then adjusted the transperency of the one on top (a trick I got from a friend who used to make a lot of sigs on ki). Personally, I think it looks just right on the line between pixelated and blurry.

Mwarharharhar, like the Sam sig Task; the demon is a nice touch. The blade crossing in front of the demon rather gives the illusion that he's spliced.

Feba, I noticed the blur in the first alteration, but I also thought it was from stretching. The effect of the blur is nice though, it softens up the light on the left into a glow instead of a shine as it was before, and as you said, the pixelation is hardly noticable. Perhaps make a mid-style of the two sigs though. Use the blur again, but maybe make it taller, and skinnier than the "widescreen" one and make it shorter and wider than the original (with the flame visible somehow). If the blur makes a softening effect on the flame as well, I think that could turn out very nicely.


Also, is my sig visible? No one's told me that they recognize the gif so I don't know if they can see it. It's bound to change soon anyhow because I'm building a new computer and I'm gonna load photoshop on it. With that I'll make a new sig and avatar that show my character....I'll try to make the grin similar to my avatar now on the 3D model, heh.

I don't see a gif in your sig. Actually, I don't see anything in anyone's sigs, because I have them turned off (too many folks think bigger is better). I have to check someone's profile to see them.

I might turn them back on again eventually though. Maybe after I get mine suitably fancy. Right now it is only hinting at it.

Oh yeah, I can't believe I forgot to mention that. I can't see the image in your sig for some reason, Ryddr. If I copy/paste the url I can load it, but even with it in my cache it doesn't show up in your sig. No idea why.

Yeah, Feba. Now that you pointed out what you did and that it was on purpose, I think it looks great on the left side of the image, but on the right where there isn't anything to catch your eye anymore it just makes the taru less visible.

I choose the crab for BST because it was just so out of nowhere. I mean, tarutarutarutarutaru CRAB! And the fact that it takes up most of the image only adds to the shock value.

Choose the puppet for PUP because I didn't want it to look like a second MNK

@Taskmage: The SAM pose is actually Impulse Drive, looking at the backside of the model. I was looking for an inventive shot for that, and that pose just reminded me of Sephiroth killing Aerith for some reason as well.
