Re: Anyone want to buy my games?

Nah, there's something to be said for owning the physical media. Those servers won't be around forever, but a well kept install disc is more likely to be around when you want to go back and play again.

On the other hand, digital distribution is unreasonably convenient. I'm conflicted. I want both.

Currently Talking to a guy on the phone who is interested in buying my whole collection. Minor freak out. This is a huge commitment.

How much would you sell the whole stash for? And, have you beaten ALL those games? If you haven't beaten it yet, the cost goes up as it is still a virgin.

Re: Anyone want to buy my games?

My whole collection (the OP is only about 1/2 of it) is worth in the ballpark of $4,100. He shot me an email offering $3,500 cash.

It's not a low ball offer by any means... but it's still not as high as I'd like it to be. We've been haggling for a while now. Basically I'm trying to take things out of the list to get down to his 3,500 offer and still keep some of the titles I really don't want to sell.

Stressful dealings are stressful. But daddy needs a new car.

That's a bit more expensive than a new pair of shoes, lol... I'd recommend Carmax for your future car endeavours. They usually have a great offering, friendly sales people, and the extended warranty you can buy with the car is great. We bought an 2009 ACURA MDX for the wifey their last year. It had 50k miles on it but really was in mint condition. We bought the 125k extended warranty on it for like $1300 (thats not the exact amount but close i think), so it's now covered until 175k miles. Anything that goes wrong with it, we pay $50 and it gets fixed. That's a freaking deal...

Really? Anything at all that goes wrong and you only pay $50 and they'll cover the rest to fix it? There have to be some strings attached to that, it sounds way too good to be true.

Nope no strings attached. That's why I recommend Carmax. The only "strings" would be it needs to be performed by Carmax, you can't go to your own mechanic to do the work.

That's good to know but I got a great deal on a truck from my aunt. It's a 98 but only has 37k miles on it. They drove it to the dump once a week and that's it. Surprisingly well maintained.

Best part is she's selling it to me for peanuts. 1800? Yeah sold.

@BBQ: With digital copies you don't get the satisfaction of actually owning the physical game. That's just my opinion though. I can understand how they're appealing... they just don't do it for me. I need to own something in its physical form to truly feel like it's mine. That's the main reason why I still went out and bought Fallout for the PC instead of just downloading it from GOG when it was free. Same for Dragon Sphere and Arena as well.

Maybe I'm the minority here... but it's how I feel.
i'm more portable-minded, so when upgradable flash memory, downloadable classics and cheaper games started to be a thing, I skewed heavily to it. DSi, PSP, 3DS and Vita spoiled me in that regard. So has Steam. Nice to know my laptop or Vita could be obliterated and I'd still be able to get my games back somehow. A 3DS getting obliterated requires a boy between five and nine years of age.

And I can completely understand this perspective as well. I think I just have a sickness...
