Re: Obama Wins 303 : 206
For the record, David Cameron is a tosser.
Back on topic, I think now is definitely the time to start pushing for either a 3rd party, or if the country can stomache it, a parliament like the rest of the west.
The Democrats have basically become what the Republicans used to be or "Rockefeller Republicans" if you will - Obama is by no means a liberal. The Republicans have morphed into an zealous & extremist, anti-women anti-minority plutocracy. Therefor, I could see the moderates that are left splintering off and possibly merging with the democrats (or even forming their own group, possibly with the Libertarians) and the Liberals in the Democratic party splintering off as well because let's face it, the U.S. doesn't even have a Liberal party anymore. I was one of many who'd hoped Obama would be a 2nd FDR but that's clearly not the case.
And as to my earlier argument, the man's stopped 1 war, intends to shutdown the other as well in 2 years. He's proposed a budget that will cut the debt by $4 Trillion in a balanced manner (though many experts argue that there's more that can be done and they're right) AND above all else (IMO), he's the 1st president in ages to actually cut the runaway military budget almost in half over the next 10 years. That alone speaks volumes to me.
Of course, none of that matters if the Congress keeps their eternal pissing match going, and they probably will. Piers Morgan has Jesse Ventura on the show again tonight, so I'll be looking forward to that
I'd love to see him run next time. I don't care who either party nominates in that event, Jesse FTW.
