Disney buys Lucasfilms for 4Billion. Episode 7 on the horrizon.
Will do, and stop comparing Star Wars movies to Muppet movies.
But Return of the Jedi was filled with Muppets.
That said, while the Muppet movies were always fun, they were never THAT great. Mostly because they were plot based and not skit-based like the TV Show. I always kinda hoped they would just do a movie version of the TV show on a grander scale, allowing for even more star cameos and throwing every muppet and the kitchen sink at it in the process.
It never really got better than The Muppets Take Manhattan as the movies go. It never got worse than Muppets from Space.

George Lucas is an overpaid hack.
Star Wars never was all that great, Mass Effect is a far better Sci-Fi universe anyway.
Marvel might be able to do something cool with this.
And don't compare Muppets to Star Wars. Jim Henson was a genius, and it's not fair to compare what was once an amazing product that sadly went bad after the creator's death, to something that was basically a fluke that took off in an era of cheesy writing and is suffering from waning interest.

I'm going to reserve judgment until I see more about the film. Or until I see it, because shitty or not, you know I'm still gonna go see that shit.
I love Star Wars in general and I am one of the minority that did not hate the prequels (love the originals more, but still, enjoyed the prequels), so I will probably like it no matter what they do.
Re: Disney buys Lucasfilms for 4Billion. Episode 7 on the horrizon.
One important thing to point out here, is that these supplement the originals, not replace them.
Which means, essentially, that while it might suck hard, you're not growing to grow up with generations of people thinking Star Wars is just a piece of crap.
That's the big problem with the slew of remakes, and sequels that try to reinvent or relaunch the series (as in, removing the number from the end, and making it ambiguous as to whether it's a fucking sequel or a remake or what)
Keanu Reeves as Spike? Okay yeah, pushing it. Continuing Star Wars? Calm the fuck down, the worst thing that can come of it is that you have to ignore it, and nothing changes. On the other hand, the best case scenario could be wonderful.
And yeah, lightsaber keyblades. Admit it, you'd totally love to have your gummi ship get caught in a Death Star tractor beam.
/also, lucasarts is apparently included in this
//think about it
///MONKEY ISLAND, ET. AL?
//plus, the LEGO partnership is valid through 2016
///LEGO Kingdom Hearts too
//mainly, monkey island though

Re: Disney buys Lucasfilms for 4Billion. Episode 7 on the horrizon.
I just don't see the sky falling here. Star Wars is Star Wars and kids that grew up with the prequel trilogy think its every bit as awesome as the original trilogy was for me. Personally, I only thought Episode II blew and I'll never watch it again but the rest I liked. The games are all over the place but Rouge Squadron, Jedi Knight, KOTOR and the SNES games are all a good time.
And as Feba pointed out - stuff like Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion and such fits Disney like a glove. There's a lot of IPs that Disney might want refresh there. Maybe we can even get an Indy reboot because I'd prefer we didn't pick up where Lucas and Spielberg left off on that one.
