No, that's what the Canadian Food Guide put out by Health Canada recommends.
Well, yeah, but those guidelines probably aren't for athletes. I'm not saying fat is bad, or that 30% is too much, I'm saying 10% isn't too little for strength training and you want all the protein you can get.

So then, is it OK to be a brony but still like Jello?

Of course it's not guidelines for athletes Armando, it's a guide for Canadians.

I have nothing to add other than the fact that Booster Juice is awesome.

I spend my $7 on the largest very-berry juice that they have, and spend the next 15 minutes in a berry induced coma.

I'm mad at myself because I haven't been to the gym since June. I'm still paying for it every month, of course. I just keep making excuses in the moment.

Many people find protein important because it not only provides the amino acids for muscle repair, but it's easily converted by the body into glucose, which is also essential in muscle repair and brain function, as you said.

Re: I work out! (well not yet... but I need to)

Whoever it was that said "look into getting a personal training and see a nutritionist" gave by far the best advice in this thread. Anyone can suggest a diet and exercise regime that worked for them but the problem is is that it may well not be something that works well for you.

What worked for me when I lost about 30kg (about 66lbs) in like 3 months were a couple of simple lifestyle changes. Cycling to work and back and following the "Of course three big meals a day will make you fat if you just sit on your arse working in an office all day. Also cereal bars for breakfast because you're too lazy to buy some fruit or oats or something, do make you fat." rule so switching to light, but filling things like pasta, rice and potatoes for meals (and also stopped me from snacking all day) and switching to lager from stouts and ales helped. That and colleagues also being fully supportive and one actually being qualified give this sort of advice did help. I eat a hell of a lot less red meat as well now (Mostly because I flat out prefer to eat chicken and fish; though that is also partly because my doctor discovered that I can't digest purines properly, which causes things like sleep apnoea and joint pain if there's a lot in your bloodstream, and red meat like beef and pork is full of them).

Would I recommend it to someone? Not unless I know it works for them but you would be surprised as to how much the simplest of lifestyle changes like (gasp) actually eating less, and switching to foods that actually keep you full for several hours, and being a little more active do help.

Fact: Mountain Dew is one of the most nutritionally balanced foods on the planet.

It's usually less than half a bag, but yeah I do use our D&D sessions as an excuse to eat a lot of junk food since I've been trying to cut back during the rest of the week. I'd go crazy if I cut out junk food entirely.
