So . . . how are we going to find each other on Cockatrice? <.< I have a Standard deck (the one I spent <$25 on, though I may need to spend another ~$25 for disappointingly irreplaceable cards) and some Modern decks (give me some hundreds of dollars and I'll make them in real life) that I'm enjoying playing.
Also, Game Day today was a failure at my local comic shop. Only myself and one other guy showed up, so no promo Dryad Militants for the either of us (oh, or Cryptborn Horrors, for those who care). So we played each other a bit; our decks were uncannily similar in style. He was White-Green Humans, I was Mono-White Soldiers. He even kept calling my Soldier tokens Humans instead. XD
Alas and alack, however: though each game was ridiculously one-sided in one way or the other (due to mana screw or the like), his deck was clearly capable of out-swarming mine. So I became keenly aware that my deck had a bit of a blind spot in that particular matchup . . . thus the extra ~$25 of cards needed to fix it.
On the bright side, however, I decided to roll the dice and buy an Avacyn Restored booster to make up for the lack of an event, and I opened myself up a Cavern of Souls. I think that set likes me a bit, in the "as a friend" sort of way.

However much I am actually smart, I got that way by confronting how stupid I am.
If a card reduces the casting cost of other spells, does that apply to alternate costs such as flashback and overload?

I've made a few decks in Cockatrice, all Standard, most with an embarrassment of rares, especially the Battle of Wits deck (XD). The only deck I've managed to put together with a reasonable number of inexpensive rares is a rather uncreative mono-red goblins deck. It's going to take me awhile with the spoiler lists to come up with something fun, cheap, and reasonably competitive.
So how do we get together and play?

In case I'm not the last person learning how to use this program, I found this video helpful:
I looked through the rulebook and cost modifiers apply to the total cost, which is the mana cost or alternate cost plus additional costs.
I think I have all the active players in this thread as Skype contacts. I just have to do the registration part of Cockatrice setup tomorrow and then you guys can hit me up for a game any time.
