        Re: Magic: The Gathering

Well, that gives me a reason to run Elvish Piper and Zerg the hell out of him now. I don't like Eldrazi for the bullshit Annhilator. Forces you to remove before damage calculation. Eldrazi Monument is just adding salt to the fucking wound if you have Eldrazi Temple and I do believe Spawning Zone x 2. So yeah, I'll gladly pull Elf Cards out left and right per turn and swarm him before he even gets the chance. Oh and did I mention Concordant Crossroads? I don't think I did....I understand it's a World Enchantment but last I checked it took a shit ton of mana to bring out Hand of Emakrual shit like that. It That Betrays is not even on the list of cards I hate from the series. So by the time he's done getting his stuff out I'll probably have him down to 5 or so health. But knowing Yyg he's the type to run Skittering Invasion plus a couple of Nest Invaders which spawn tokens for you right off the bat.

Oh. Friends favorite card to kill an Eldrazi with.

Tajuru Preserver, from the same set as the Eldrazi. He's even an Elf.

Alternatively, Sigarda, Host of Herons. You know, if you want to run a different overpowered Creature type.

I found nine Onslaught fetch lands laying around. One of my kids took them out of their top-loaders, so some of them are in "good" condition rather than mint/near-mint, but that's still $250-350 on eBay. Ka-ching. More boosters here I come.

You'll need that money for your Steam Vents, Sulfur Falls, and Loothouses. (Wish I could afford Flooded Strand/Windswept Heath/even Misty Rainforest . . .)

By the way, a particularly well-known person who also happens to have allegiances with the Izzet started a podcast today:

                Is that Maro? Awesome.

And nah, I'm not going to be investing in any dual lands. They're worth the money for pros, but in my casual decks they're very minor improvements. I'd be better off selling them and buying more boosters to give me a better card base.

Actually, I spoke out of turn. These fetch lands came from a point where my wife and I were ill-advisedly trying to sell singles online for money, so most of this money should go into our general fund. But I've still got $45-80 coming from the Vraska and shock land I opened on Sunday, so that'll be a nice kick to the collection.

I've yet to hear what the man has to say himself. I'll wait. Now that I think about it, I do have a beta copy of Armageddon in my card case. If someone were to use that card on me and I have Tajuru out, they pretty much burn themselves out. Then again mana burn is frowned upon in MTG. Since that takes the fun out of letting your opponent fight back. Jace The Mindsculptor still on the ban list? His card last I checked (this was August of 2011) was roughly 70 dollars for the foil and 50 for non-foil.

Mana burn was taken out of the rules in 2010. And yeah, that Jace is banned in Modern and Extended.

Spells and abilities your opponents control.

On another note, woot, bargain Standard decks! Return to Ravnica Event Deck Decklists : Daily MTG : Magic: The Gathering I may or may not pick up the Boros one when Gatecrash hits. Or, heck, the Azorius one as soon as these are released, since it's conveniently right before the "Game Day" event.

Wait what, no more manaburn? The jank continues.... bad enough they took combat damage off the stack.

Do all 5 current guilds have event decks? Only Rakdos and Golgari are listed, unless I'm missing something.

I'm assuming he only revealed two deck lists simply as a teaser. Quite frankly, it'd be patently ridiculous for those to be the only decks they put on sale, especially considering that they share a color!

Well. If Mana Burn is banned, what does that really say about players who run Nicol Bolas or whatever his name is. I REALLY don't like his deck at all. You lose permanants real quick with his abilities and he can nuke your shit.
