It's not unheard of for people with Black Lotus to store it in a vault. It's that valuable.

I would actually argue that the more practical, pragmatic, powerful and useful answer in this Standard environment, at least for a Rakdos aggro deck, is to splash Green. You have your Farseeks, you have your Abrupt Decays, you have your Huntmasters, you have your Thragtusks! What the heck does Blue have to offer? Invisible Stalker?

Well, I've got all the cards I want in the deck, problem is the deck is currently over 90 cards in size lol... so I have to do some trimming.

I REALLY love Vexing Devil as a 1 drop - so freaking evil. I'm thinking 2 copies of Rakdos is plenty - I'd like 3 to increase my odds of getting him out, but... nah.

So for now, it's a matter of balancing removal, card advantage, and cheap/effective beatsticks. I've only got a couple of big fatties in there - all but 2 are 4 CMC and I might ditch the ones that aren't idk. I'm also not sure if a Planeswalker is appropriate or not for this kind of deck, but the 2 I'm leaning on (1 copy each) are Liliana of the Veil & Chandra the Firebrand (to help enable Rakdos and just generally be annoying). I'm really, really loving the Red Miracle rares as both of them are utterly sadistic and fit the Rakdos theme quite well (Bonfire of the Damned & Reforge the Soul).

Reforge in particular is pure jank if comboed with Rakdos' Return (provided I get the miracle cost). I took a headcount and I'm up to 96 total. need to trim that down to 60, I can probably sac a few lands as the highest cost card in my deck is 6, there's only 1 of it, and it's a critter - so if Rakdos is out it's not an issue.

EDIT: Yeah White has some nifty utility but I'm not sure I need it. I want to see how this deck goes first.

EDIT 2: OK got it down to 75 cards now... ugh, so many good critters and other things it's hard to make choices here. Also, kinda sour about Miracle now slightly - didn't realize it has to be the *first* card you draw that turn. Still, I do like them and they're staying in; just not sure if only 2 copies of each like I have now, or 1 of each. I can't decide if I should use Slitherhead as a 1-drop or not... I really like that I can use it as a chump blocker/early attacker and then scavenge it for free later.

Oh are we going with strictly RTR block cards and no Core or Innistrad?

Standard as of RTR, so RTR, M13 and Innistrad block. The sets are grouped by format on this page.

Yes I know how standard works, I just thought for a moment you meant RTR block only.

EDIT: GRRR Got my current draft down to 10 cards now, but I'm agonizing what to cut and what to double down on. R/B has always done this to me lol, it has so many fun and hilarious options but then you run into the issues of having a giant deck...

I really hope they reprint Bob.

Nicknamed "Bob" after his creator, Bob Maher. Really at the moment I'm just dying to get a killer Orzhov deck going, along with Boros & Gruul.

EDIT: OK so I now have a couple of standard-legal decks, when are we doing this exactly?

Last night I played my friend and he ran some proper Legacy decks. They were brutal and just further convinced me that people need to stop giving me grief about sticking a few cards in my decks that aren't legal in Modern. Oh teh noes, I'm running squirrel cards from Odyssey! There's some truly degenerate decks you can build in the format, but I haven't put together anything that even comes close to what I saw last night. Those decks are just scary.

Seriously, these were decks my friend owns in real life and there were honest-to-god dual lands in there.

I built a deck over the weekend. Who wants to play? (and teach me the in game mechanics of cockatrice.) I've played the ps3 game of magic for over 40 hours from last Wednesday to Sunday, i just don't know what to click where and when on cockatrice.

Cockatrice is a little annoying at first, and it still bugs the hell of of me as far as attacking/blocking goes, as well as transform cards - you need to actually make a token of the transformed version...

Yeah, because those cards work soooo much better in real life.
