Yeah as much as help would be nice, I really would like to make my own Standard deck to start, though any constructive criticism after that would be welcome.

I'm enjoying my new Modern deck. Needs all kinds of tweaking, but initial results seem promising.

Okay I managed to make myself a deck that fits the theme I wanted and is legal for standard. It seems to work pretty well as well.

Of course, then he would've just killed everyone with the Stalker that much faster.

Looking more closely at your Cats deck, it would seem to have a big, glaring blind spot against creatureless decks. Your obscene amount of creature removal ensures that your Cats remain the best thing on the board most of the time (and it vexes me so . . .), but what would you do against, say, an Epic Experiment deck, where at any given moment you could very well have half a dozen dead cards in hand? Or a Discard deck, for that matter, that would happily relieve you of those cards . . .

Or, as that last game indicated, against Hexproof guys. It's not like B/W is lacking in board wipes. In place of a fraction of your spot removal, you could easily run Black Sun's Zenith (providing a dirty amount of symmetry with your White one). In Modern you also have both Wrath of God and Damnation to choose from should the board ever see the likes of a 24/22 double Unblockable Hexproof guy again, though whether you run either of those two main deck your sideboard depends on how frequently you feel the need to reset.

Creatureless decks are fairly few and far between, though. Removal is a pretty good bet against most of the decks in our pool. Of course, I have a conflict of interest in giving this advice, since I have a higher than normal chance of playing creatureless decks.

Swapping in Cruel Edict for Tragic Slip would have taken care of my Stalker quite handily last night. Not that board wipes are bad.

I now have six Modern-legal decks. Technically one of them is Kamigawa block constructed legal. X3 Except the crappy old sliver deck I built, all of them are running islands. :D

The main thing to remember about the Cat Deck is that it was made as a "for fun" deck. I seriously did not expect to end up with a 75% win rate with it at all. I just realised I could use the Elf Token spam from M12 and apply it to Kitties and I found it too awesome and hilarious NOT to try.

WoG or Damnation would be something I would consider adding though if I ever wanted to tweak it for anything other than casual play.

Oh, undoubtedly it's a good idea to have that much spot removal mainboard . . . I just didn't see that many backup plans for it all in the sideboard, is all (though it does have some good Reveal and Discard cards as a starting point).

Those Geth's Verdicts are a handy alternative to the Edict, though.
