Hehe, true (and I went to UF so I sympathize more than you know). I still don't really hold it against him, though. On the issues that matter, he digs in and gets things done, and I respect that.

Also, I think it speaks volumes of just how batshit the party's gotten when Snowe is retiring (along with many others on both sides) because she just can't deal with the infighting.

I'd vote for Crist or Snow before Ventura. Ventura's a nice guy, but not particularly bright.
Those last two Harvard grads haven't exactly bolstered my faith that being "bright" is makes up for an absence of common sense. I'd rather have common sense leadership with a strong, bright team surrounding it than a "bright" president.

Clinton was not the sharpest knife in the drawer, nor was Regan and they both did better than other presidents in our lifetime.

Sure, but neither Clinton nor Reagan were particularly prone to foot-in-mouth disease. Ventura is much more like Dubya in that sense than either of the former.

Eh, let's not go there (Reagan is a complete monster in my eyes).

Jesse has a hell of a record however, and did a lot of good during his times as Mayor & Governor. And the guy has it out for both parties as well as corporate America & the Military Industrial Complex. More than enough reason right there.

Does anyone know of a conservative news source that wouldn't make me sick to listen to? Obviously most Fox News anchors are out of the question. I tried listening to Judge Napolitano on Fox Business while he had his own show, but he was actually such a Ron Paul fanboy that even as a libertarian I couldn't stand to listen to him. Is there a good source on youtube maybe?

                You were saying?

The press essentially picks what clips get played over and over to highlight a gaffe or not. I'm just showing it can be done to Obama for those willing to pay attention to the words he actually says. He's so confident those made-up words are actual words he doesn't miss a beat when repeating them.

Wish I did, but Reason.tv is about the best I've found this far for those with a more libertarian view.

I tend to get past Napolitano's fanboyism for Paul, though.

Everyone gets words wrong now and then - especially when reading from a teleprompter - but there's "occasional" and then there's the frequent, sometimes daily utterances from guys like Dan Quayle, G. W. Bush, and (to a large extent) Joe Biden.

Above and beyond that, Obama's flubs are generally borne out of honest mistakes instead of deliberate attempts to deceive. Ron Paul, as flawed as he may be, is similar in that respect - he may say stupid things out of ignorance of the facts, but he never gives you the impression that he's saying things to lead you down a path. You can't possibly say that about Mitt Romney with a straight face.

Mitt Romney has a vacant stare and a shit-eating grim. Somehow I imagine limp, clammy handshake to go along with it. I know he's not sincere since I've met enough people with that quality to them. I have, however, had to watch people that also toss in "Let me tell you how it is" or "Let me break it down for you" because chronic bullshit is bound to follow those starting points.

And that's where Obama tends to get into trouble because he always paraphrases those things and you know the man has lived in as much privilege as anyone he's run against, at least privilege above and beyond our experience.

Honestly, for once, I'd like a president that came up from nothing, someone that actually lived the American dream rather than simply benefited from it.

Someone like that would have too much sense to run for office.

That's the 1 redeeming quality of RP that I like. I think a lot of his suggestions are crazy, but at least you know he's honest.

Uh, Obama's pretty much the definition of that...

Food stamps, a father who left when he was still very young, struggling to find his identity as a bi-racial child. Then comes out of nowhere against all odds to win the nomination and the office. You can't make this shit up.
