As for the US falling it's just the result of the system it was built upon. It was just not sustainable, specially after the Petrodollar scam happened more than 3 decades ago. But then it may not have been intended to last, the globalists, politicians or whichever you like that made the decision knew this was going to be a very finite thing. So I'm guessing either the US kicks the Corporations out of the Government and detoxes from all the debt and overspending or it starts nuking around to steal as much as possible from other countries. Sadly it seems Mexico is one of the next targets since the US is no longer willing to pay the Mexican cartels for passage of drugs, so the only way to solve it is invasion if the PRI Government can't suppress resistance after the fake elections here and somehow manages to dispose of the cartels so the US and Colombia can pass drugs without the cartel tax.

As for the superiority complex it can work in 2 different ways, it can make you work harder to keep ahead like the US from the past, or it can make you complacent because you think all the good stuff will last forever like it seems it happened after the petro-boom and the debt it enabled.

I have no idea where things are going to go, but while the US used to be the main player now it's looking like it's just a piece on a bigger puzzle.

Wait what system exactly are you referring to? The political system is still mostly fine, just in bad need of a few amendments (some of them need to be constitutional, like a permanent ban on all form of lobbying and lying/making misleading statements to the public). If you're referring to the economic system, again it's because of more recent (since the 1970's) changes that have really undermined the lessons and learned from the 1930's. All the smart people (like my dear Fareed) have been saying for a while now the U.S. needs to move away from this emphasis on consumption and housing to a more export and R&D driven economy.

But then most people (well, folks who go to business school are taught this) probably don't understand that a home is a liability, not an asset. Lower house prices are actually a good thing, because it keeps the prices of everything else down too. That along with serious green energy efforts are going to be key. It boggles my mind that there are still people who blatantly deny climate change in the face of all the extreme weather we're seeing...
