  • SOPA 2.0 - CISPA

    Oh, and this time all those tech companies that were on our side last time?

    Yeah, they're in bed with this one.

    And Netflix is making a PAC to push for "anti-piracy" bills. MRAA and RIAA deja'vu.

    It's like every single dinosaur can't think of anything but lobbying to try to postpone their death, even though it only accelerates it.

        Its not like they are already reading out emails and texts, and monitoring our phone calls.

        But, they are making it even worse... Damn...

        In stead of doing this shit....

        WORK ON MAKING THE SECURITY SYSTEMS BETTER, not do something like this bull shit...

          People will find flaws in everything. Nothing in this world is perfect. You put up a wall, I'll find a weak point in it and tear it down. Just the way the world works.

            They don't do it because security was never the purpose of these bills.

            They want control to censor the internet at will because they know perfectly well how an open channel of communication can mess up their plans.

            Sadly it doesn't look like people are as interested even if the personal stakes of this are actually higher than with SOPA/PIPA.

            With SOPA/PIPA you could have your favorite sites closed, with this all your information will be accessible by the government. And people saying they wont use it like that are just fooling themselves. Heck, just see how they are very openly trying to squash whistle blowers over there. They want to control everything that gets to the public.

            Which BTW is how it works in a dictatorship. I know this from first hand experience. I also know when people are afraid of facing the "authorities" in a dictatorship and thus let them get away with everything they do. And people in the US are showing massive signs of that. <_<;

              This isn't directly related but since this woman has put herself in the spotlight over the Romneys (who I don't care much for) it bears reminding that she's one of the common architects of bills just like this one

              Remember her? Hillary Rosen was the head of the RIAA for many years and has ritually pushed for hostile, anti-consumer practices on behalf of big media corporations. She led the charge on Napster and file-sharing in particular and has co-authored many bills that were as bad or worse than CISPA, SOPA and PIPA. Do not listen to her, do not trust a word that springs from that asshole she calls a mouth. On anything, ever.

              She's pushing her way into the political scene these days, but whether you're a true progressive democrat or a conservative republican, this rancid witch is your enemy and not to be trusted with anything or on any issue. She is pure sleaze and even Wolf Blitzer makes note of that in this unrelated video.

                  She's someone that has done and will continue to do damage to consumer rights and freedom of speech on the behalf of corporations and goverment, I would not discount her. The fact she's weaseled into the political scene makes her more dangerous than ever.
