I've done 10 Hour sprees of things like that, it just doesn't bother me. I usually do it while I doodle or if I am RPing.

Which is why I'm pointing you towards the best show I've found in all my years of sifting. Watch Bebop and retire content in the knowledge that you've seen the best the medium has to offer.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is worth a watch. It's got a wide cast of likeable characters, almost every one of them bring something to the table or get a chance to shine, and it's got plenty of action without falling for the dumb "power up > fight stronger enemy" shonen loop. A lot of the fights are won by cleverness.

Gunbuster is also awesome if you're into sci-fi.
