Both, but yes, actually. There are a handful of international non-profits that use Esperanto as a working language; including at least one with an aim beyond spreading esperanto. Beyond the Esperanto literature/magazines/music/movies, there's a school in San Marino which uses Esperanto. So I mean, is it something I am going to use practically, likely not; is it something with practical use, oh yes definitely, less than your Portuguese and your Hindi, but more than your Farisian. The real benefit is the community it opens up to you, and the linguistic benefits to your mind (if I were stuck in the states and wanted to just learn a language, it'd definitely be my starting point).

Also, none of you bastards understand Memoro de la Ã…Å“tono.

I understand the English version just fine! EDIT: Actually I'm just thinking about Distant Worlds, which I like a lot more anyways.

This is the reason I looked up Esperanto. I had a passing interest in learning it, but I should get around to finishing French first.

Actually, if you haven't studied another language before, there's evidence that studying esperanto first will improve your results in your second language; basically you study esperanto seriously for a few months, then switch to studying whatever it is you actually want to learn; after a few years, people who studied esperanto first tend to be ahead of people who spent the entire time studying the one natural language.

              lernu Esperanton~

Armando, you understand the English version? Do you mean the version where they actually got someone who can sing in English? The original version of Distant Worlds was a mess, vocally.

Posted by my sister on facebook: 'That awkward moment where you walk into a store and get checked out by a 6-year-old boy who says, "She's hot..." to his mother.'

I must have been a cat in my past life. Uncalled-for moisture infuriates me!

Feeling actions and doing feelings. It's the best, really.

It was unbutchered by Susan Calloway at the 2009 US Distant World concerts.
