Actually putting the file server to use.

We've had this ancient PoS tower server sitting in the corner of the office forever. I think the only reason we were keeping it around was because the boss had some licensed software installed there and didn't want to deal with purchasing new licenses in order to put said software on other better machines. Anyway, that got kicked in the head at some point and I got to repurpose the thing as the one thing it could realistically be used as: a file server.

There was much rejoicing.

Seriously, having to do anything on 1GB of RAM is just really sad in 2012.

So mostly it's just been used as storage for workstation backups, but today as I'm setting myself up with a new laptop I get to use it to transfer all my documents rather than digging out the bulky external harddrive to do it. It's just nice to know that machine is finally doing something other than taking up space.

Works on my Firefox too. Check for NoScript I guess. Didn't work on Internet Exploder.

WINNING !!!!

SO today I was in court. It lasted about an hour presenting details and not even 10 mins to decide, I didnt even finish my cigarette.
I was told I acted above and beyond my duties and the person involed was told they should be ashamed of their behaviour, They were asked what they would of thought to me leaving them to die, Their response was "hoping somebody would have sued me on their behalf" They proceded to be called a vile and ungreatful individual, I coudnt believe to hear I'd be sued no matter what I did lol.
Even though I had been suspended on full pay I've been working at our sister hospital on the internal agency. I've been granted my pay for the time I've been off my ward from the person who filed the grievance against me so I dont think I have to drag them through court in return. If I'm honest just going back to my position and being cleared is what matters.
I'm glad to hear that there is going to be no mention of this on my professional record also, if I decide to seek work elsewhere I have a clean slate.

The person who decided to take legal action against me I discovered is quite wealthy, Which I found suprising due to the state / style of their clothes.
After this I rushed to tell my mum and see my little sister Tilly she's 2 weeks old now and still pink and wrinkly, but when I saw her little gummy smile at me for a minute or two everything felt so calm. I'm so glad it's over.

Anyways I'm off to continue my staff trials, I'll see you in the pet peeve thread lol.

Wow...that person really is just a world class asshat. Glad to hear the court thought so too and didn't have to take much time to figure out that you shouldn't be hassled with this any further.

I'm so glad this all worked out for you. It's something to see, when the world which we all know is so fucked, can get something right for a change.
