Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
I think for every group that has negative stereotypes applied to them, there's a vast majority of otherwise perfectly normal people and a minority of MFers who seem to go out of their way to prove right every stereotype about them, and subset of the former justifiably hates the latter.

Giving out medication on my drug rounds and feeling a little tug on my trouser leg and hearing "Mr doctor, mr doctor", I look down and see the grandson of one of the patients looking up at me who gave me a picture he did at nursery, It's a picture of me looking after his grandmother and he said thank you for looking after her and gave me a hug. I ended up having a little helper for the afternoon, I turned a vomit bowl "unused" into a cowboy hat and a latex glove into a chicken. I've bandaged his teddy. Bless him he's only 3 but I have to say he's more skilled than some nurses I've worked woth lol.
It's things like this that make me love my job. I can't wait to put his picture up in my locker when I return to my own ward.

I know a few gay people but I wouldnt really call them friends. I cringe when I see the over the top gays that are orange/fake tanned, funked up hair and skintight clothes complete with plunging necks and accessories that makes me question if they are going through gender re-assignment.
I@m not the manliest of gays by any measure, I do a job that originally was intended for women and if that wasnt enough I wear womens clothes and makeup and get paid for it.
I'm sure that makes me a hyporcrite and more than likely a terrible human being.
Not a fan of Jersey Shore?
There are a lot of things I don't mind about other gay people. I just wish they would tone down this bizarre love for pop music. The way some people talk about "Leona", "RihRih", or "Her Madgesty", I'd swear they were best friends or something.
EDIT: Wasn't this supposed to be a thread about things that make us happy?

You know, I really think we all conform to stereotypes in one way or another. Some of us more than others. I know some guys who were fairly low key or at least "normal" in high school. Years later, they're out and proud on Facebook and they've done things like started wearing skin tight clothes, getting unnaturally colored faux hawks, and like standard "gay" things like Brokeback Mountain, Calvin Klein, or pop divas like Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, or Madonna.
Nature or nurture, dunno. Both I guess. I've reflected on my own history a bit and realize my "Likes" can actually be divided into roughly 2 stages.

Went out to a tavern last night with some friends. They managed to find me some beer that I actually like (I generally hate almost every kind of alcohol.) Granted, it tasted more like sweet/fruity wine than beer.
