Kinda-sorta. You should read the "play by post" thread I set up in the D&D subforum. It explains the end of last session in relative detail. It's not exactly how it happened... but that's the spin I'm putting on it to make it work.

    Read it.

      From today's xkcd:
"Because it's there" is much more poetic than "I'm rich enough that my goals are arbitrary."

There's a group of Mormons that go around my local area once a year from the US. They do visit my hometown once a year. While they do have this insane "fire and brimstone" preacher who ends up getting a 4 metres wide berth from where he is standing, there are a couple of people in that group who are pretty respectful, friendly and what I really like and respect: they are the "I believe in X, Y and Z and here are my very well educated and researched arguments in favour of it and I am more than happy to have a civilised discussion with you about this."

Honestly, I prefer that kind of person a lot more than someone who screams "GOD DOESN'T EXIST" or "GOD HATES FAGS" at people without even bothering to want any sort of civilised debate or discussion.

These ladies caught me right as I was going out the door and I think they could tell. They asked me what I thought about Doomsday, let my response slide instead of contradicting it and just gave me the tl;dr on their own beliefs before giving me the opportunity to pass on their brochure (I didn't. I always take them.) before gracefully excusing themselves and letting me get on with my day.

What I hate more than anything is when people come to my door and combatively ignore every attempt I make to end the conversation short of slamming the door in their face, the way a telemarketer does. This has proven to be much more true of people trying to sell me on energy plans or security systems than Jehovah's Witnesses in my area. The last time I had a conversation with one it was actually quite pleasant, which strikes me as a much more effective way to evangelize.

I'm pretty sure it's worse than that. You can be one of the 7000 chosen and not be a Jehovah's Witness. If you're chosen, they have to find and convert you to make it count and save you. But there's no real way to tell who's chosen and who isn't until doomsday. So it's like Pascal's lottery ticket.

I'll save a table in hell for us all to play M:TG at. God knows I'm getting there first the way I smoke cigarettes.

I always figured Satan would run red/black, not mono-red.

calculated with my girlfriend how long we've been together.

                                It's OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND hours
