Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
So, somebody posted this image on Twitter:
NSFW, language
And they were all, "freaking furries, stop this."
And then somebody pointed out that it was a song lyric.
(NSFW, language)
I KID YOU NOT, IT IS A HONKING SONG LYRIC.
That made my day a bit better, especially after finding out that the common Standard Magic cards I ordered online are stuck at the post office, which is closed on Saturdays now apparently (!), and now I probably won't get to play them in my deck tomorrow because the dang LGS doesn't have them in stock. Maybe if they had a better mass common buy deal than $3 for 1000 . . .

Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
I once quoted the entire drill sergeant speech from Full Metal Jacket and it got me banned from a forum because the MOD who saw it had evidently never seen the movie and didn't get the joke.
It all started when I asked where one guy was from... and he said Texas. HOW WAS I NOT SUPPOSED TO QUOTE THE MOVIE WHEN HE SET ME UP LIKE THAT?!?
Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
Why do people capitalize mod? It's just a shortened form of moderator, which is not (to my knowledge) a proper noun. Now if the letters stood for something like Man Owns Dogs or some shit like that, I could see it. Just something I noticed some people do a long time ago and never asked about.
I realize that Man Owns Dogs would be silly, but I wanted to go for something simple.
Re: Little things that make you smile - the anti-peeve thread.
I deliberately capitalize it to differentiate it from the abbreviation for modification. To mod(ify) is a verb and stays lowercase while MOD(erator) is a noun that I treat at a proper noun. It's a habit of mine from years of English classes and creative writing rough drafts that required me to trunch everything into some form of code that I could easily read while keeping the lines as short as possible.
