Fail/Pseudo-fail of the day

We have an accomplishments thread... but what about those times when you just fail at something. Post... share... comment on your daily fails here. It doesn't matter how big or how small... a fail is a fail.

Allow me to kick it off:

Today I bought myself buying my 5th coffee of the week. Only after I put my card away did I realize that I've had a dunkin donuts giftcard worth 30$the in one of the sleeves in my wallet. I could have been 15$good richer right now...

Right now? Me. I applied for a job yesterday. Took them less than 24 hours to get back to me in e-mail and they were like "Hahaha! No..."

I thought it was a pretty strong application, to be honest...

Well, I applied for 3 jobs for this place. It was Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center though, so competition is probably fierce to get employment. Hoping that one of the other 2 come through.

I only started getting back into job search mode yesterday though. I really think it's time to get out of the whole group home business. Especially if the company is just going to fire 2 of my staff right on the spot and leave me to clean up the mess and find coverage all on my own. For 11 dollars an hour, that kind of frustration just isn't worth it.

Mine is a weekly occurence of fail. Every Wednesday I keep my daughters home with me from day care. Every Wednesday they don't nap, and I can't get them to. They nap for day care and they nap for my wife on weekends, but every wednesday its like they have a triple latte for breakfast. I enjoy spending time with them, but by mid afternoon they are wiped and still won't nap. I just can't get them to do it.

FFXI-related fail: Levelled BLM, SCH, RDM to 99 so I upgraded my ToM Ice/Thunder staves. I had the carbites, so I started the trial to upgrade my Surya's staff, and turned in the carbites intending to only finish the trial when my WHM had reached 99.

I got distracted doing other stuff in-game and was feeling good about what I had accomplished. I looked in my mog sack and saw my staff and thought "I should go finish that trial and get my awesome (if +1% cure potency is awesome) new staff!"

Of course, as soon as I traded it to the moogle, I remembered that my WHM was still 95.

I felt gimp going into an exp alliance w/o it, but it was nice to be able to wear it as soon as I dinged 99!

I love the new name tho... that makes up for the lack of other improvements. Badass name is badass.

Yeah, Arka IV is a much better name than Surya's Staff +3. Not too keen on the Ice/Thunder stave names, though (Vourukasha I, Apamajas I). Would have been nice if they had upgraded to a name that I can remember without having to look it up ; ;

Oh well, I'll learn their names eventually.
