I was looking at the graduate application requirements for schools where I might want to pursue my Ph.D. Was looking at Illinois requirement page. They require the chemistry GRE's for application, along with the regular GREs. I look at the breakdown of the chemistry GREs...30% is Physical Chemistry. NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL. FML.

(Analytical, the field I want to go into, is a messily 15%)

Just got out of college, two degrees, BS in Bio, BA in Psych, minor in chem, graduated Summa cum laude. Applied to med school a month too late last year and didn't get in. I'm a shoe in this year since I applied early, but I got a job for the next year. I'm working for a cosmetic company as a microbiologist, they're paying me $13 an hour despite that we agreed to a minimum of $16... I had a series of interview for a research firm, pays 35k starting, made it to last one, said they wanted me, but needed another interview. Current job has me working like 8a-7p, so its hard to make interviews while covering myself for medical school interviews. Find out today that they went with someone else while they were scheduling my last interview. And to add insult to injury, my mother this weekend wrecked my car. fml.

I'm attempting to CWburn in Aby-Kon... long day of work.. still a bit jacked from a 14hr drive from Sacramento.. had to be at work at 7am cuz someone had the week off.. needless to say I'm not firing with all cylinders. I got out there... kill a Treant and realize I'm not /Rdm.. so I leave and come back /Rdm. I'm gathering lights.. drinking a little mead..gathering lights.. I cap amber. I start getting Dark Rings and whatnot. Neat. I then go for pearl... I realize after getting the 30min warning.. "Sh!t !! I should have gone for Azure first.. DOH!!!" I run out to kill Imps for azure. Kill a few but it's not gonna work.. I figure "Fine... pretty profitable first run... I'll do one burning of Tonberries just to say I've done it.. lesson learned" I run over to the Tonberries willy-nilly. I realize I hadn't switched my to my CWburn spells. I switch my spells... gotta be like 10 min remaining when I start my pull. It's going all fine and dandy until I notice that I attracted the attention of Tonberry Lieje... my HP starts plummetting. I die. Only good thing really was that I died before the 5min mark and was able to get back in w/ my LS.

Lesson learned.

*Check subjob.
*Azure and then Amber or Pearl.
*Choose BLU spells for CW burn.
*Watch the fuck out for the Tonberry with the crown.

... least I got nearly 100k gil of stuff outta the deal.

Engage Brooder, fight for a few seconds, then the baby wakes up screaming. Check the monitor. Cool, she seems to have found her paci, back to sleep. Oh no, she lost it. Screaming, screaming, I can't leave I'll die, and maybe my buddy too (solo it wouldn't have been a big deal). My bedroom door opens and my wife comes out (not happy), FMLuck, (not life in this case) my night is done.

Konschtat light guide for future reference. Pavan gives a random amount of amber between 16 and 128. There's one in the limules between 2 and 3, one in the leeches and flans NE of 6, one around the morbols between 4 and 7, and one that hangs out in the back by the tonberries. Ephemeral Clionid give a random amount of azure between 16 and 128. There are a lot more of these than Pavans, but I usually pick off one in saplings by 2, one in Raffelesia as I'm running north from my first Pavan kill, another near leeches and another in tonberries. If you're lucky you can have your azure and amber capped in under 15 minutes, and I've never had it take over an hour. If only there was a cute trick for pearl as well.

Btw, Ephemeral Limule do this for ruby light. I suspected it for a long time but a friend unfortunately confirmed it the other night when he had an unexpectedly good Blade: Jin and shot our ruby from 0 to 128 in one kill. Avatar clones and ephemerals share this behavior in all Visions zones.

Problem is I'm not actually sick sick. I feel just fine other than the sore throat, but I risk giving it to her if we make out. Or just kiss in general, like any couple that hasn't seen each other in months would want to do.

Cough drops, orange juice, and pee as much as you can. As somebody who's been in a long distance relationship, I can tell you that you've got to get it in at every chance you get. At least hold out for that first night.

My wife leaves for Mississippi for a few days on business. I figure its going to be a fun few days with my daughters. Four hours later, my oldest starts throwing up. She hasn't stopped yet...FML
