You aren't the only one. I actually thought that the UK was actually in a better condition than the US.

But just wait.... Soon, with the way the stock market is going though, the US will be next. We need to kick people out of congress, and get people who are competent, and KNOW what they are doing.

And create more jobs, by taxing companies that out source by a large amount, and give the companies that don't outsource a tax break. If we do that, then Unemployment WILL drop, and we might actually be able to fix the poverty issues.

go to youtube and search for Jeremy kyle. The people on there are the benchmark of the average british person.

It's rediculous, I'm from a council estate and I still live there in high rise block amongst the scum. Before anybody starts calling me a snob.
It comes down to it in life there are decent people and wankers. The decent people and myself are just trying to get on with life with the shitty hand we got dealt. The wankers are the ones messing everything up for everybody else.

It's the same in every country really, it's just that we are having the worst of us representing us in those riots. It's shameful to see those people and having to be associated with them then I see the decent people come out, band together and clear up the mess and even band together to chase off the rioters and I get a little faith restored and the shame washed away. I know that in my home town, looters are actually being physically dragged to local Police Stations. While I find it hard to condone what is essentially abduction, I love that they are getting what is coming to them.

This has become my new favourite site. It is basically taking police photos of rioters and photoshopping humiliating loot into it. The creators of the site have compiled the best ones into a book to sell with all profits from the sales going to charities to help the victims of the looters.

I hope things settle down over there, but there's a lot more tension there than here in Canada (though we're faced with similar issues - the avg household debt here is estimated at $150k now and Harper only seems fit to cut govt jobs that actually matter, like at Environment Canada)


As I understand it, the tensions with Muslims is far greater in the U.K., with several groups trying to get Sharia law in place. That along with your government basically cutting 1/5 govt. jobs, the tuition hikes etc etc... yeah, I can see how people are just utterly pissed. Rioting really doesn't help though, at least not in public areas like the people have been. All they're accomplishing is making an already shitty life worse by wrecking businesses and killing people - 3 young pakistani men were run over the other night. Most if not all the damage will likely end up being paid for in taxes as well, so rather counter-productive on that end.


Now, rioting (if peaceful protesting is truly as ineffective as you claim it to be) at police stations and especially parliament... that would probably garner far more attention and results. If the politicians won't listen to the concerns of its citizenry, then bring the problems right to their doorstep. It's one thing to see an angry mob on TV - it's another to look at them from right outside your own window.


I also happen to think the same thing should be done in North America but we've (especially us Canadians sadly) grown too complacent over the years. Though it does remind me of something I saw 2 days ago on CNN during "The Caferty File" - someone from the U.K. wrote in how this sorta thing could never happen in the U.S. because the cops would put it down instantly... heh, might wanna look at U.S. History again buddy >.>
