I'm trying to quit Lexapro and it's turned me into a fog-brained zombie. I don't now why this is a go-to medication. Xanax is much easier for me to pick up, use, and quit, and has a better efficacy.

My cousin made it back up north for Christmas and went to see my grandmother at the nursing home - she's deteriorating pretty fast and it breaks my damn heart. She posted a pic the two of them together and it just made me cry.

On the one hand, I'm glad that she remembers me (and that I'm in Florida), but on the other hand ... I'm just sad. I don't like thinking about the people I love getting old. My heart.

Watching a person cease to be a person as their mind deteriorates is one of the most painful things there is. What will really drive it home for you is when they finally die and the grief is dulled as you realize your loved one died years ago and their body just finally caught up to them.

It also helps that I'm 1100 miles away from all of them, too, so it's almost like it's happening in its own bubble. It saddens me that the last time I saw them over five years ago might be the last time I'll have gotten to see them because I don't know if/when I'll be able to make it back up north. I try calling but they can't hear a damn thing over the phone anyway so it ends up being super frustrating for both of us.

I need to do whatever I can to get back up there though, so that I don't miss the opportunity to make peace with the fact that it will be the last time I see them - not something I did last time I left.

So general question:

Considering playing FFXIV even though I will be starting school again in three weeks and I really shouldn't spend the money on the game and the sub fee (since I won't discontinue WoW because dammit I like WoW) and how stupid would I be to not only pick up a second MMO but only play it casually anyway?

Fuck.

Okay answer the following:
Can it be played casually?
Can it be played solo?
Is it anything like FFXI in terms of fun? Community? Style?

Yeah, if you're looking for a side MMO you'd be hard pressed to do better than Guild Wars 2. That said, you're starting school. Knuckle down and stick to one MMO.

I just need to read the old pet peeve in FFXI thread to cure me ... not surprisingly, it worked. Especially the credit card bullshit I dealt with, now I'm seriously wondering why I considered giving them money again after all that.

I love going back and reading old threads though. So many times I'm reading a post of mine and I'm like, "Yeah, I hate that shit!" Good to know I haven't changed too much.
