Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
This past week has been terribly amusing. I didn't realize just how much my co-workers relied on and appreciated me until I got a position on a new contract. I start later this week and it's just been a steady stream of "I don't know what we're going to do when you're gone". In the past I've often joked about being the only thing holding this company's network together but I never figured that was actually true.
I've pretty much been the guy who gets in before everyone else in the morning and starts screaming "goddammit why isn't the network working?" and has it fixed by 9:30. They don't really have anyone lined up to take over for me either.
It's just really funny because the other half of the time I'm here I just sit around and surf the internet all day waiting for something to come up that requires my attention. I tell ya, there's no middle ground and it makes evaluating your own importance really weird.
