I'm there to pee, wash my hands, and go back to whatever I was doing before. So why do you men feel obligated to skip stalls and avoid using the only empty one if there's two guys on either side? No one is going to lunge at it*. I promise you. Get in there, pee, and get out. My God.

There was a guy at a club in Boston a few years back (I feel its important to not that it was a gay club... for purposes of keeping the story accurate. We were out celebrating my gay *see also: "burn down the curtains"* friend Jesse's birthday) and I had just this kind of situation happen to me. I walk into the unisex bathroom (For those who haven't experienced it... I highly recommend it be put on your bucket list) where the lesbians were holding eachothers hair back while vomiting in the stalls, makeup was being applied in the mirrors by both the transvestites and the ladies... and 5 of the 6 urinals were occupied. After taking in the sudden flood of information as I entered, I went right for the open urinal... because why not? The guy to my right didn't even try to hide his wandering eyes. My reaction was immediate and I never even bothered to meet his eyes directly: "It's awesome, isn't it?". And with that, I washed my hands, high fived the one lesbian chick who overheard me and walked out to re-join my friends.
Long story short, if people are going to look, they're going to do it weather you're at the urinal next to them or 3 urinals away. Your best bet is to call their bluff when they do and turn the aura of discomfort on them instead of yourself. There's nothing quite as satisfying as exposing someone for doing something sketchy and then watching everyone else around you judge them for you.

Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
I simply never use urinals, unless they are inside a closed bathroom (for whatever reason, lots of bathrooms here have both a toilet and a urinal, which seems extremely pointless to me). In theory, I would use them if they would add stall doors. Mainly, the way I see it, the urinals aren't saving any resources or any significant amount of time that couldn't be better provided by giving more stalls in most bathrooms. (More urinals can be squeezed in in some arrangements, but in most they're totally wasteful)
Plus I'm pro-unisex-bathrooms, and urinals don't mix well with those. I did see one unisex bathroom with urinals, but they had to be separated off into another room, which was so far behind the stalls that it was a total waste of time anyway.
also, I'm a white guy in asia, and there is a %100 chance of creepy ass motherfuckers glaring at my wang

Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
I was about to say that I'm glad I don't have this problem, but then I remembered that before I use any public toilet I have to check first just in case a hoverer got in there before I did and didn't clean up after herself. Because I've seen some toilets where I'm pretty sure they didn't get any piss actually in the bowl.sigpic

I once walked into the wrong bathroom and thought it was a unisex deal. Funnily enough nobody seemed to care, if you walk into somewhere looking as though you don't expect to be stopped, you can get away with simply walking into a lot of places you really shouldn't be able to. The Iron Throne George RR Martin originally Imagined: As painted by artist Marc Simonetti
This Iron Throne is massive. Ugly. Assymetric. It's a throne made by blacksmiths hammering together half-melted, broken, twisted swords, wrenched from the hands of dead men or yielded up by defeated foes... a symbol of conquest... it has the steps I describe, and the height. From on top, the king dominates the throne room. And there are thousands of swords in it, not just a few. This Iron Throne is scary. And not at all a comfortable seat, just as Aegon intended. - George RR Martin

Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
Did anyone catch Evo this weekend? That shit was intense.
I'm kinda bummed that the Smash Bros tournament was taken by a Fox player, but at least there was a Jigglypuff in the top 8.
The Street Fighter tournament was just a blast for every match I tuned in for, up to and including the final match where a Gen player just thoroughly wrecked his opponent.
The running commentary throughout the whole thing was utterly fascinating, and made all the better since I was actually able to follow most of it. I think I finally understand the appeal of sports now, it's just that my sport of choice happens to be Street Fighter.Server: Midgardsormr -> Quetzalcoatl -> Valefor

Google Glass vs. Public Bathrooms - YouTube
Oh, here's another great reason not to use urinals. Hopefully as glass spreads, the idea of the open urinal will fade.

It won't. Urinals are open because it's cheap, not because it makes any sense to construct them that way.Server: Midgardsormr -> Quetzalcoatl -> Valefor

Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
Yes, but lawsuits. There are two factors: One, some guy is going to have his junk posted online and get tissy. Two, some guy is going to be peeping on little boys and then EVERYONE is going to get tissy.
The first one, I'm sure any sane judge will find that the manufacturer of a camera can't be held liable for what that camera records; same as any number of peephole cams and whatnot. The next logical entity to sue is the establishment, for enabling it through inadequate privacy blah blah.
Two is probably the bigger one. Again, I doubt society will be willing to part with the technology, and it makes much more sense for parents (read: mothers) to push for stricter security in bathroom facilities, especially in buildings where children would be present
three, a generation of boys, raised on private stalls, find open urinals to be outdated and unnerving
