            So, apparently there was a Marathon in Boston where an explosion just happened with a bunch of casualties. Some people have the gut instinct to say that it was a bomb, but that is as of yet unconfirmed, and such claims would only serve to incite further panic; I only mention that because you all seem level-headed . . . well, at least most of the time.

            Kidding aside, I'll be praying for them tonight. Such a terrible turn of events.

                  Again, we don't know for certain that it's a bomb yet. For all we know thus far it could have been a gas line explosion.

                        I messaged Yyg on skype, hes glued to the TV and nowhere near it.

                        Our news has been covering it and apparently Gold command in the Uk are having a meeting with London Marathon organisers and analysing current security for it probably going to be bolstering it now maybe they should jsut cancel thatchers funeral on wednesday and spend the now confirmed £10m on extra security to "protect the public" at the london marathon instead..

                          I am glued to the TV too, and I have to be to work in less than 2 hours ... fuck.

                          Been following the thread on BG and someone posted this video, it's not particularly gory but it's ... wow. I mean my jaw just dropped watching it, it's pretty scary.

                            There's too much conflicting information getting thrown around. I'll wait for it all to get sorted into coherent piles later in the week. The folks I know in that area are safe and that's all that matters to me.

                              Isn't Yyg in/near Salem? It's a long way from Boston.

                              I know a few people from Boston: some college friends and a member of my gaming group (originally from Salem funnily enough) are from Boston but thankfully they were nowhere near that when it happened. Still I'm very saddened to hear about the incident and until we know more about what happened, I can only send my sympathies to the families of the three who died and wish everyone else unfortunate enough to be near the explosion a speedy recovery.

                                Wow ... this is crazy right here. I work dispatch but nothing of this level has ever happened on my radios. (We've had shit, just not this kind of shit.)
