    I should probably clarify that I'm less scared of "not existing any more" than I am of going through the process of dying itself. The thought of just plain losing all feeling everywhere and just . . . stopping. That's what I meant gave me the creeps.

              You can still hear what's going on around you for a few minutes after you die (in most ways of death.)
              Then you still exist.
              I'm not sure how that's supposed to comfort me concerning the thing I'm more scared of.
              It's comforting to know you'll never have to face your fear.

              If someone told me "Hey, you'll never run into a scorpion," I'd be like "sweet. Scorpions scare the bejeesus out of me."

                My "fear" is going through death. I'm pretty sure we all have to face that eventually. (Unless we somehow discover immortality in our lifetimes, which, as I mentioned on the previous page, is a whole other can of worms.)

                    I think your logic here is slightly flawed. YM sounds like hes saying that his fear is equal parts "Death itself" and "The moments leading up to it".

                    If someone were to tell me that a Scorpion will never STING me, I'd be relieved to hear it... but the things still scare me. Just because I'm safe doesn't mean that the fear itself is gone. Likewise... knowing that I won't have to face DEATH ITSELF isn't nearly as reassuring as you're making it out to be. I'm pretty sure it's equally frightening stand at the precipice of mortality.

                    Yet another reason I'm signing up for the first experimental Cyborg testings.

                      Not to change the subject, though this is the off topic thread ... I went thrift shopping today, man I fucking love the Salvation Army and Goodwill, spent just under $40 and got a bunch of stuff. I get paid Friday, I'll head out to some of the "mom and pop" thrift stores in the area and see what I can find.
