Waiting for a random event is one of the most maddening things I've ever experienced. After you cross the threshold (e.g. the 1296) and the event doesn't occur, you start to feel a real sense of entitlement. Like the Random Number God owes you, and he wants to mock you, and each additional attempt adds insult to injury.

I logged in to my yahoo email account for the first time in forever and found a 4 month old beta test invite for Mists of Pandaria. Just lol.

Was it a legit invite or a scam one? I got plenty of scam ones and I do believe I got the legit one, but I never played the beta because I kind of like to be surprised.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a scam one. It's a remarkable forgery though. They've got the graphics and formatting, promotional copy, and legit links to battle.net's privacy policy and support, etc, but main link goes through http://us.battle.login.net.find-pandaria.worldofwarcraft-blizzard.net which obviously looks phishy. I bet they got a lot of accounts with this.

Yeah the scam ones really are pretty good, if they get reported fast enough, when you click the link it automatically tells you that the site was flagged as bad juju and doesn't even let you see the content.

As long as the green shield is there, it's legit. At least in Hotmail.

But you should playyyyyyy. I'm having so much fun in Pandaria. My latest activity is pet battles, it's ridiculously addicting. I don't play very much but on the days I do play it's easy to see why people get sucked into the game so much.

Cross server zones forced onto the players put me off Mists completely. There is literally no way to hold anyone accountable for their dickish actions now and any sort of GM action is ridiculously slow and often amounts to nothing because someone is on another server.

It's even worse on Roleplay servers. I will be hanging out with friends ingame doing some RP and suddenly trolls and there's nothing you can do about it because they're on another server and Blizzard's GMs frankly don't give a shit about cross server interaction..

If there was a way to play the game without all of the cross server bullshit so the game has an actual community I might pick it up again but for now I'd rather crawl through /b/ naked.
