I'm sorry to hear about her (and your?) loss, Feba. Related or not, it's never easy to watch someone pass away in front of you. I've been in those shoes more than a few times myself and it never gets any easier.

Thanks to the conversation in the RL pet peeve thread, I was looking at this article (Health risks from dead bodies - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) and I was amused by this paragraph:

The substances cadaverine and putrescine are produced during the decomposition of animal (including human) bodies, and both give off a foul odor. They are toxic if massive doses are ingested (2 g per kg of body weight of pure putrescine in rats, a larger dose for cadaverine), causing adverse effects. If these figures are assumed to apply to humans, a 60 kg (132 lb) person would be significantly affected by 120 g (4 oz) of pure putrescine, and would show no effects at all for a tenth of that dose. By way of comparison the similar substance spermine, found in semen, is over 3 times as toxic.

In other words, if you're worried about decomposition contaminating the ground water, you're better off spending your time worrying about possible cum guzzling fatalities.

Caught up on Marble Hornets yesterday. Watching something that I know seriously fucks with my head may not be the brightest thing to do when I know I've been in a crazy mental state recently, but right now I'm willing to run with anything I can find enthusiasm for. In other news, the wife has graciously removed the kids from the house for the next couple hours, I'm three drinks in and feeling pleasantly inebriated. Debating on going for #4.
