Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
The game goes based on the team. The difficulty is as follows.
Oh. Yeah, I know. But the Special Stages are one-size-fits-all apparently. I got most of the Chaos Emeralds by spamming the Team Rose stages. The Mystic Mansion emerald, in particular, took me about 15 tries to get. Part of it is the unresponsiveness of the controller during these. And the team just randomly stops running and falls off the wall back to the bottom of the cylinder, which loses precious seconds. There is even one part where I just randomly started running backwards, which just shouldn't happen.
I decided to try again because the Sonic Generations Special Stages were based on these, but I beat them almost effortlessly. I thought maybe it's because I got better. But no. They just sucked a lot less.
...by the way, typing this with my regular computer. My brother made a simple suggestion to me and voila, it works better than when the service I gave the computer to said the only thing they could think of was to do a System Restore.
Or maybe he wants to be a little sister. <_<;
*ehem*
Hey Ketaru, what's wrong with your comp? Is it something a clean OS reinstall can fix or did your keyboard (laptop?) die a dishonorable death?
1. I can't say I have personal experience in trying both out, but I like the parts I was born with already.
2. Apparently it was something wrong with one of the RAM. My brother suggested I take one out and see if the computer works fine after that. It works good enough for me. I just won't be doing a whole lot of multitasking. I'm wondering if I should try playing Final Fantasy XI, but he suggested laying off it until I get another one.

Going in to work on my day off ~ this happens at least twice a month. I come in early, I stay late, I come in on my days off. As long as I get one day off to regroup, I'm good. My record of hours worked in one week since I've had this job is 64, when we had one person fail to show and she was removed from the schedule, I ended up pulling a double three times that week. I've worked every number of fucked up shifts with short turnarounds. One of my trainees asked me if I was a robot. Nope, sadly, I'm just someone with no life and I know that if I only work a straight 40hour week every week I can't make ends meet so I soak up all the overtime I can possibly handle and stockpile the money in my bank because one day I'm sure the OT will dry up and I'll need the extra money.
Then again, one of my coworkers says the OT will never dry up, as soon as we get fully staffed someone else quits/leaves/gets fired. This is true, I've seen it happen already a few times. I don't mind the stress. I do mind that I'm going to have to double train again most likely starting next week. Double training sucks, you can't give the people the individual attention they need. But I do what I have to do, and I like it, so all the extra time I spend at work ends up being okay by me.
And now that it's 1600hours, I have to put my work shirt on and get my ass moving.

You poor people. Why do you all work so damn hard? God haven't people heard of all work and no play makes Jack/Jill a dull boy/girl? What's pushing you so hard to make money? @_@

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that it's something along the lines of grocery bills and rent. Or in Murphie's case, internet.

The threat of defaulting on a college loan can be a pretty big motivator. I've been doing approximately 30 hours of overtime every week for the past 4 weeks. I worked 16 hours on Christmas Eve and 16 hours on Christmas too.
Plus it's a social service. You don't get to have a life in social service. You get calls at 2 in the morning from people who can't come to work in the morning. And just like that, you weren't originally scheduled to work the next day, but now you are.

I spent most of 2011 tearing through what little money I had saved, and am now living with my sister and her two awful children because I had to leave my old apartment in the city. Now that I'm working again, I'm determined to get back to where I was financially, and then some. So yeah, I'm working a lot.

For someone who enjoys living in peace and quiet? They are pretty terrible. They are loud. They wake up at 6 am and immediately begin running and screaming all over the house. They require constant attention. I can never sleep. They come into my room when I am trying to sleep and giggle and laugh and poke at me to wake me up so I will come and play with them. The only thing the TV is allowed to show is freaking Spongebob or Toy Story, because if anyone tries to watch something else they throw a freaking fit.
Also, they are slobs. So is my sister though, so that's mostly learned behavior.
I am looking forward to moving into my own apartment where I can sleep past 7am.
