Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
I've never liked polo shirts. They were always the "my mom is forcing me to wear something with a collar" shirt, so when I wear them now I feel like I'm faking it and look like a kid who's half-assing it, imo.

Considering the way I'm dressed right now and how I usually dress the few times I'm forced to leave my cute computer alone to go "outside"... I think I'll just stick to space monocles.

You guys are wearing the wrong polos.
1.) Don't buy pique', shit stretches like none other.
2.) Buy a polo that freaking fits. It should not hang away from your body, or have arms that come to your elbows.
Basically it should fit like a tee, but with a collar. Avoid crazy prints in general. They are seasonal, and will look dated super fast. If you MUST have a logo, wear Polo. But try to avoid them. Also, again, try for a not 100% cotton blend. Something with a bit of give in it.
Polos: They're shirts with a bit more formality to them.

I think between these two you've got a good definition of where a polo fits in. Your mum had you wear it because people looked at it as a shirt a little above what you otherwise wore.
Chaps are assless by their very nature. I have a pair, but 1.) I wear them OVER JEANS, and 2.) I don't actually wear them anymore. I bought them years ago when I worked in a bar that had a leather bar, and I wanted to look good for the customers.
As weird as it sounds, because I'm not at all really INTO leather, wearing them over a pair of well fit jeans with boots felt incredible. And they looked amazing.
I'd never wear them now though. But for whatever reason I can't throw them away.
The correct question is: What does he want to wear that's frowned upon that he thinks the people judging him secretly want to wear?
Maybe I worded that wrong. What I want to wear is frowned upon by most. But, there are those who secretly want to wear it them selves, but frown upon it them selves.
If I could, and not get shot, or some other shit, I would walk around with furry ears, and a tail. A collar around my neck, and a chain attached to it, holding it. My clothes that of a "gothic" style, black and dark, with chains around the pants.
I would feel comfortable as hell like that if I could wear that, but it is frowned upon. I have talked to people who feel the same way, but they frown upon it themselves because others do as well.
