We used to say that our middle child fed directly on negentropy, since as far as we could tell no food ever went into his mouth. He derived sustenance from disassembling whatever we put in front of him.

My friend's nephew is like that too. Dude never seemed to eat anything. But he hasn't died of malnutrition yet, so I guess he's managing.

Depending on the cake, a thin layer of frosting is fine. But I generally like a nice thick layer of good quality frosting (none of that cool whip frosting or whatever) on top. Like a wedding cake.

That's all my daughter does. Won't touch the cake part. Goes the same for pop tarts. Do you know how long it takes to lick the frosting off of a pop tart?

I can only imagine the state of the pop tart after that. Gross.

It depends on the frosting. My sister makes a ganache that is amazing by itself so I don't mind heaps of it when it's used as frosting. For something like a butter creme I prefer Dak's style.

Turns it into a paste-like substance.

But I love buttercream. You people obviously don't love frosting enough and thus should just let me have all of it.

I get less and less enjoyment out of sweet things as time goes on, but a nice warm, moist cake with a good texture will never lose appeal.

I enjoy a variety of desserts in varying degrees of sweet, but my love for a well made frosting will never die, even if it hurts my teeth.

If it literally hurts your teeth I think that may be a separate issue you need to have looked at.

That was a bit of an exaggeration.

Your daughter must have a cat's tongue and an abnormal saliva gland.

I commend her courage and tenacity for sticking it out long enough to discover that pop tarts have an edible part.

One of these days I'm gonna make french toast, except I won't use regular french toast mix. I'm going to dip the bread in pancake mix. And then I'm going to grill it in a waffle iron.
