Etra, have you tried Clazziquai, Nujabes, Okawari? And to a far lesser extent, early Capsule. Comes to mind when I listen to that, definitely checking them out.

I mention the machinery because the power went out last night. I wake up at 2AM in total darkness, see my analog clock is behind by half an hour already. I wander around my apartment building inspecting the wiring, the meters, the breakers, and suddenly things start spinning and whirring. Get back to my room, and it's still out for whatever reason; as I pick up my cell phone lights start blinking, speakers pop on, motors start spinning. I have no idea what happened to get the power to go out, or what brought it back, but it was pretty surreal.

I've listened to capsule way back when. Never heard of the other groups, but I will need to check them out. As for Yelle, this new album was produced by Dr. Luke, so it's a far different sound for them. But I loves it.

So as a future educator, I'm taking a class during which I will be expected to teach middle school students three lessons. I'm currently working on my lesson plan for the first, and ... it's hard! I never expected to teach kids of this age so that's a challenge in itself, bu I'm really having a harder time than I thought I would with this. I hope this gets easier as I do it more.

Aks, find the time to listen to Hello Internet. Like a third of the program is CGP Grey talking about his work in education and experiences in teaching.

One of his very early youtube videos is also on time management for teachers.

Don't forget to begin a sexual relationship with one your students. This is pretty much standard for white, female teachers right now.

I mean, use the opportunity to try out a bunch of different techniques. If you do a group reading, you can figure out who the more intelligent students are if you can get them to admit to reading ahead of the rest of the class.

Also, principals frown on teachers playing dodgeball when they're not the P.E. teacher.

The students are sixth graders. They're exactly 1/3 of my age. You're just gross.

(Yes, I know you were being facetious.)

But on that topic, I am actually grossed out by the idea of even hooking up with someone under the age of like ... 28. I don't deal well with younger men.
