Re: Official Bored at Work / Off-Topic Chat Thread II
Walking across campus, she gets cut off by a stream of idiots on bicycles (read: every fucking student at my school). She catches up to me. "Yeah, you have to get used to the bikes here." "The bike... culture?" "No. There's nothing cultured about it. Just bikes." She laughs. "Honestly, nobody in this entire country knows how to use the goddamn road. Cars, bikes, sidewalks, even in stores, nobody even has any clue what the fuck is going on around them, let alone how to react to it."
She gets quiet for a bit, seems upset. I start to explain my point in more depth (fuck if I'm backing down though, seriously), and she cuts me off -- "You're so right! Bunch of idiots, and it's like, I can't make a right turn on red people, but you keep honking at me and acting like I'm going to turn, and it just puts you in this situation where you break the rules and put people in danger, or you follow the rules and put people in more danger", this continues for some time before she looks genuinely pissed and I tell her to leave the anger to the foreigner.

Universe was definitely fucking with me, she 'wants to focus on her studies'.
The upside of this is getting to torture an unfortunate freshman who had the wise idea of getting in touch with me to complain about her English sucking.
[after offering to do her a favor]
'Senpei you're such a great person'
'Tell that to them, I already know'
'Them? [That girl]?'
'not being serious'
'I don't understand'
'it's fine, you will when you're older'
'...'
'senpai, don't be sad. this way, you're free'
'have you been rejected [romantically] before? not much you can do. freedom is overrated'
'sure I have. it'll pass, trust me'
'Senpai has more experience than you, probably'
'Nah'
'Oh, you've been engaged before?'
'What?'
'I thought everyone knew that by now'
'...'
'is your "." key broken'
'So you like her?'
'Which "her"?'
'Yesterday'
'Well, when you say like, what do you mean? In law, you need to speak clearly... [rant on defining terminology]'
'... Okay, then you define it, senpai'
'Okay, I'm going to use English'
'Let's not'
'[Uses English anyway]'

College Homecoming is this upcoming week, and I want to participate in the festivities, but someone (read: my boyfriend) is being a spoilsport.
I mean yes, I have homework to do too, but this is my first semester at a major state university. I'd like to join in on some of the fun. And I'm not exactly going to get all dressed up to go to the homecoming ball and sit in the corner watching a bunch of strangers have fun since he won't go with me.
