Yep, been clamoring for an offline game set in Vana'diel for ages - it's still the best world they've come up with by far. Hydaelyn is OK, and Spira/Gaea (which apparently are linked) are fine but Vana'diel is still #1. Ivalice comes in for a distant 2nd I feel.

Just found out the LOL S4 World Championship is starting it's tournament not just in my town, but using my university's arena to host it. Gonna see about getting tickets.

I may or may not be drunk off half a bottle of wine right now.

I had a long week at work, a long day at school, a test (which I actually aced but I'm so tired like I don't even care) and then I came home to finish an assignment then decided to drink wine while doing it and I did turn it in but now I'm definitely a bit on the blitzed side while procrastinating going to bed which is the one thing I don't need to procrastinate because I actually enjoy it so what the fuck.

Fair enough.

Although I am excited for Halloween Horror Nights, which opens this weekend. We bought our tickets a month ago and it'll be really nice to get away. Even though we just did Disney two weeks ago. I think I just like shirking my responsibilities by going on weekend out of town trips then bitching when I have a fuckload of reading to catch up on. Even though I am bringing one of the books I have to read this weekend. We'll get back Sunday afternoon and that will give me some time, but not a lot.

It's only the fourth week and I'm so ready for the semester to be over.

So I went to the S4 World Stage Day 2, pretty neat. Some really great plays. TSM v TPA was fun to watch as an American; most of the foreigners who traveled for the show were down in the floor seating, and the cheap seats were mostly locals. TPA is essentially the home team, so every small thing they did got huge cheers, while TSM only got a few occasional and modest appreciations from mostly down below. The match went a little long, but TSM was in control pretty much the entire time. The crowd was not happy.


Probably the biggest thing that surprised me was just how much energy there was in the room. When you see the clips of the crowd in the corner of the stream, it seems like they're all fairly muted and only doing it for the cameras, but when you're actually there it's very clear that people are worked up about it as much as any other sport.

Yeah, "trash", that's why it's one of the premier MMOs on the market and making SE lots of money now. I have a number of issues with it (mostly changes/promises Yoshida went back on from 1.23) but it's still a fairly solid game.

I've had suspiciously good luck with girls the past week. Monday semester starts, planning to meet girl I'd reconnected with on facebook; because of crap in her personal life, her family has taken away her phone and also she lives in a city over two hours away, has to commute by bus four+ hours a day. I don't realize at first that she has no phone, and have no idea why she's vanished after Sunday night. I realize Monday night, check her schedule, plan to check her classroom the next day; she's not there. Just as I give up and go back to grab my bike and head to the library, I run into her. She runs off to another class while I'm thinking "I should get a drink"; I realize shortly thereafter that I didn't fucking need a drink because I have a water bottle now, dumbass, and go to about four wrong classrooms before realizing where she is. I can't find her in the mess of 500+ students; she gets her phone back that evening though. She's now living back in town though, which is good for everyone.

Same day, meet a random girl in class because she looks bored and alone; she is. By the end of the class she's sitting next to me and we're making plans to meet after her next class is over (mine was canceled); I go to the library to wait, fuck up the time, try to call her but she's nowhere to be found. I give up, go to 7-11 to eat before a club activity; she calls me shortly afterward, she had just been walking around campus for some reason, so she comes back, goes to the club with me, rides around on the back of my bike. I seriously don't know why it's so hard to meet people without a cell phone nowadays, it can't seriously have always been like that, right? Also we literally spend over an hour just biking around campus, sitting on benches talking. Manage to squeeze in lunch with her a couple days later, seeing her again tomorrow since she was out of town over the weekend.

Today, I go in to class early, give her a call, she's on the other end of campus so lunch is out, which is fine. I confirm some other things with her, get some coffee and head to my classroom. On the way, I see yet another girl I'd been interested in, strike up a conversation. She's just now getting out of class, has another class immediately afterwards. She mentions eating. She mentions not having time to eat. She mentions eating in class. "Yeah, I guess you'll have to get 7-11." "Yeah" "Okay, bye then" "Bye..."; I turn around to leave. "Wait, Feba," "Yeah?" "Have you eaten?" "No, and I'm not hungry. I have coffee anyway." I point to my coffee. "Uh, okay then." "Bye."

I turn around and walk into the building, and am immediately hit with a wave of oh my god how am I so fucking stupid. I am like a door made out of bricks. Staring out the window realizing how much of a goddamn idiot I am, I get through my class; afterwards I go to a bench and look up some information I told my teacher I'd send him. And she just passes on by, stops, and we sit there together talking for a good ten or fifteen minutes before she goes.

Either the universe is trying to set me up, or it's toying with me.

There was one thing on my bucket list that I didn't think I'd ever cross off (it's more of a figurative list, not an actual physical piece of paper but whatever) and that's going to see Garth Brooks in concert because he retired from touring a few years back. I've wanted to see him since the early 90s, so the fact that he's coming to Jacksonville next month (which is about 5 hours away from here and I do not care even a little bit), and that I managed to get tickets before they sold out seriously has made my life. With the hotel room, it's going to cost me a total of about $200 but whatever, it's completely worth it.

So now I'm listening to country on Pandora and I'm so fucking excited every time a Garth Brooks song comes on that I can barely contain myself. I literally grew up listening to and idolizing him and finally I get to see him live and it's been this big dream of mine to see him - and I finally will.

Personally I was never a fan of Chris Gaines after his silly little "Garth Brooks" stunt.

I mean, I can get that he was fed up with pop music, but going into country parody was just such a terrible career move.
