Actually I can loan a friend a Steam game with the family library thing that the Xbox One tried to steal. I can just authorise their computer to have access to my steam games and they can basically play what I have until I decide to boot them from it. They will have the game files, but will still have to buy a copy anyway.
It's a pretty nice way to combat piracy too. My family and friends get to try out a game and also get an incentive to buy it for themselves.
You can do something similar with iTunes too but since iTunes stuff is DRM free, there isn't much to stop someone form just running off with thier copy of the files.
