As a fellow Floridian, you should know this one, they're trying to get the bazillions of uninsured drivers in this state to actually break down and get car insurance so the rest of us don't have to pay for these fucks. (Also fraud, because this is the worst state.)

Car insurance rate went up another $20 a month, which isn't a lot, but when it goes up every six months, it's getting kind of fucking tiresome.

I don't actually live in Florida anymore (I get to see snow again yay), but yeah, I know exactly what you mean. One of the furries I know there is an insurance agent, and the stories that he could tell . . . actually, I think that you and he would get along swimmingly.

You are weird for celebrating that you get to see snow. I hate the shit.

One of my coworkers has lived here her whole life and always talks about how badly she wants it to snow. The rest of us (Michigan native, Michigan native, and me from Pennsylvania) keep telling her that she really does not. Snow is very pretty at like 4 AM before anyone is out, including the snowplows. Then it turns into this mushy grey-brown mess that gets everywhere and makes everyone miserable.

Plus if it snowed here, well, these people can barely manage to function when it drizzles. If it snows here, I'm camping out wherever I'm at until it's gone.

Anybody know a good way to deal with non-congestion sinus inflammation? NSAIDs kind of help, but I'm looking for a more effective solution.

I mention this to my mom, joking that 'That last one doesn't start with F...'

I'm agreeing with Cid's mindset with this move. Our government is a bunch of fucking idiots... The Russian installed leader is overrun by protestors and outed from the Ukraine. He was supposed to be an elected offical, elected by the people, but the election was 100% corrupt and run by Russia, and Russia gets their man into office, so they can continue running the Ukraine. The protestors chase him out of town, he runs and flees to guess where, Russia. Russia sends in their troops the quell the rebellion, "calm things down," and then get one of their guys back into office. This is not "a billion dollars in aid to the Ukraine" it's a billion dollar donation to Russia...

Seriously... WTF?!?!?!

I meant to play some WoW tonight and run some old raids for the chance at mounts, but then Twitter happened. One of the former writers of one of my shows was tweeting with fans and basically sharing all kinds of behind the scenes stuff about one of the best episodes so me and the rest of the fandom pretty much flipped the fuck out over it.

God I love fandom life sometimes.

NCIS, which I don't watch anymore since Ziva left the show. I'll admit that part of the reason I watched was for the Tony/Ziva romance, but I also just really loved her character and the show fell really flat without her.

NCIS is still ok last nights episode was involving Dinozo and his dad again alkthough not ziva esk were starting to warm up to bishop.

Okay so I just woke up in tears over a nightmare, I have never had any sort of dream or nightmare that was this intense and that when I woke up I still thought it was real life.

Synopsis

I had this horrible nightmare

That I was with my boyfriend, we were sitting around (incidentally at my grandparents’ house, unsure if that’s significant) and that he was still with his ex (I’ll call her N) but he was also with me and she didn’t know about me but I knew about her. And it was obvious I was just someone to pass the time with, he was clearly more involved with her.

And we’re sitting there and he says he’s going to ask her to marry him and he pulls out this ring (it had a brand name on the box, but it escapes me now) and my heart literally skips a beat before I remember that it isn’t for me, it’s for N, and I feel like I’m doing this terrible job at hiding my feelings for him but all that seems to happen is that he’s basically oblivious.

Fast forward and we’re at some huge family gathering and I’m still with him, N is still not actually in the picture but I know the time is getting close and I feel like I have to make him love me more before he gives her this ring and I lose him for good because my heart will shatter and die if I lose him, that’s how intense this felt. In the dream. And suddenly he’s on the phone with her and she’s on her way …

And the general consensus is that I’m supposed to beat feet, or that’s the feeling I get. So I lean over to him and whisper in a huge burst of courage, “I’ve fallen in love with you,” into his ear and he stops short. Then he’s talking about things like “Well you and N would get along, and you both don’t mind being with other chicks” (which I actually don’t know is true yet because we haven’t actually tried that, but it’s been discussed in real life) but the general indication is maybe he can have both of us and we can be a polygamist relationship but…

It’s not at all what I want so I’m suddenly walking away, wordless, and I feel totally sick to my stomach, and I see her coming up with a box though she was supposed to be bringing pizza but it’s like a bigger box, with stuff in it, and my boyfriend is all like “Hey babe,” and kisses her and of course I’m totally forgotten and I feel like I’m going to vomit so I keep walking away, there’s like this big crowd in the doorway … (I should note that this is not what his ex actually looks like, I have seen pics of her before, this was just a symbolic representation of her like dreams do)

So somehow I end up back in the kitchen to pick up some of the things I’d left in there and wish whoever it was who was having a birthday (it should be noted that I recognize none of these people) well and I remember thinking that I’d put in my appearance so I could just feign illness and leave. I remember thinking about having to go find my mom to let her know I’m leaving but that never happens, and suddenly I’m on the other side of the house asking someone to hand me my purse and a few of its contents that had fallen out.

The person handing me my stuff seems to be having difficulty understanding which stuff is mine and which isn’t, and after a few rounds of “This?” “This?” “This?” she’s handing me the fucking ring box and a part of me wants to take it so bad but the other part of me, the not-psycho and not-insane-crazy-bitch and totally defeated/depressed/crushed part of me that knows it’s not meant for me tells her no, she puts it down and hands me my stuff and then I wake up.

TOTALLY DISTRESSED and then I realized it was a dream I was like, “Oh my god it wasn’t real, it wasn’t real, oh thank god it wasn’t real oh that was horrible what a nightmare,” (and on and on, you get it) and I started fucking crying because it felt so real and so terrible.

Obviously this is rooted in my insecurity that he’s going to leave me for someone else. That he’s going not necessarily back to his ex, but that if/when he leaves the country for his postdoc work I truly am afraid that he will find some other woman. I know I’m scared to death of that happening, because I do love him and I haven’t told him yet because I don’t feel like I’m ready to. I’m actually scared of that too. I don’t know. Ugh I feel horrible right now.

At this point, I'm unsure whether I should talk to him about this. I mean I tell him everything, but at the root of the problem is that I still feel highly insecure and not ready to bare my feelings just yet, even though we have been together for a year and a half, I guess this is because any time I start to really care about anyone in my life they leave me and ... I don't know what to do. I have never felt that level of intensity from a dream before, not so that when I woke up I still thought it was happening and I had to actually step back and realize that it wasn't real. (I felt like Katniss in Catching Fire when Peeta is yelling at her "It's not real! It's not real!") That's the level of emotional distress I was feeling when I woke up, crying, then I started crying in relief when I realized that it wasn't real.

Oh my god.
