Yea, like just now maybe a few hours ago. I'm going through lexapro withdrawal and I don't like like I can adequately handle boyfriend responsibilities. Of course she thinks that's ridiculous, and she wants to stay together, but if I'm just going to be a shitty boyfriend then what's the point? I don't know what she sees in me to begin with.

A lot of women straight up love assholes who want nothing to really do with them so they can "fix" them or some other bullcrap. I don't get it. Personally, I'm of the mindset that if you don't want a relationship, then we can have some sex and all is cool. Then again, I don't play mind games like a lot of women or try to trap men into something they don't want.

These are the thoughts you should be recognizing as nonsense... I can't pretend to know what you're going through or the thoughts that go through your head, but you can't push away people that care about you just because you think they deserve better. Please try and view this as objectively as you can and reconsider your relationship if this is the TRUE reason you broke up. If you broke up with her because you're sick of her shit, then F her and nevermind...

I'm with Mezlo on this one. If you're not happy, then break up. Doing so out of some false sense of nobility is just dumb. When she stops being happy she'll end things. Of course I kinda have the feeling that at the heart of the matter you weren't happy with it. And that's cool. More often than not these things don't work out.
Now the ending it through a text message is pretty shitty. Especially since it seems you were together long enough to warrant a face to face exchange. It sucks to do it (and apparently most people just forego it anymore) but it's the right thing to do. Doesn't make you a shitty person, just someone who did a shitty thing. And we've all had those moments.

We were together for two months. I felt that pressure like something needed to be said, and I felt like the disinterest was mutual, so I threw it into a text to get the ball rolling. Boy, was I wrong.
