End game is shit. You can literally buy your relic, there is no accomplishment in getting it at all. You fight the major primals in Hard Mode to get your relic and there are people who will sell Titan HM to you for your last piece of the relic. This is the new relic system.

Buy Relic Container off Market Board
Buy Materia off Market Board
Meld Materia to Weapon
Get Broken Relic from an area on a map.
Repair Broken Relic with Melded Relic Container
Fight Chimera
Do Ampador Keep
Fight Hydra
Fight Ifrit HM
Fight Garuda HM
Fight Titan HM
Relic Finished.

Relic + 1
Get 900 Tomestones of Mythology. 300 Cap a week. So 3 weeks and you have a +1 Relic.

Versus slaving 6 months over XI's relic system, which was more worth it. Relic's in XIV are nothing but trophy items now. So fuck that game and whatever shit that is with it. Only reason I am sticking around now is for crafting and the 2.1 Update for Housing. Gonna get my house, decorate it then screenshot it and leave the game alone.

Also I'm tired of slaving for only 100 Tomes per dungeon. You need 3.5k Tomes of Philosophy for a full set of DL Armor. But you cap out at 2k. You can spam dungeons all day but there are picky faggots who belittle/berate you for not having Darklight Gear. (End game armor.) Even further if you don't have Allagan (Coil Gear).

The game is cool and all, but the dungeon running mechanics fucking blow. You run the same dungeons over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. You need a total of 40 dungeon runs for a full set of Darklight Armor.

Speaking of Relics in FFXI, there was an update today. You can update them (among other things) to be on the astronomically broken level of other weapons in this game, now.

Also, Excalibur's Additional Effect now takes priority over Enspells. /dance

I think they did what they could with what content they had available. Hopefully, they'll pull it all apart and put it all back together in a way that makes use of newer content instead of stacking the new content directly on top of the old content.

And I'm not sure it's worth it to slave over any in-game item.

If you want neckbeard, basement dwelling, hardcore gameplay, you have XI. If you want casual, log in for an hour or so and log out gameplay, you have XIV.
