This is starting to become a recurring thing.

I'm having this problem way too frequently, myself. Even after I close Firefox, it still takes half an eternity for the process to release the dang memory. And closing Firefox is practically mandatory before I do any PC gaming.

Primary reason I got Chrome myself, really: for those "crap, I really need to look something up real quick" moments. Though, Chrome's not exactly been completely innocent in terms of memory with me, either, and I generally just don't like how it flows for me, but the main idea is to never have it open long enough to be an issue.

That's also most likely a poorly behaving extension. In this case, one not exiting in a timely manner so the parent process is sitting waiting for it. Since you're obviously watching it in the task manager, just go ahead and kill the process once the window disappears. Why wait?

Most Firefox issues are extensions now. Firefox proper gets some testing, not much, but far more than the vast majority of extensions.

I never liked google chrome as it crashes 50 times an hour on me, and I've lost so much info because of it.
