Whataburger is the most inconsistent food chain I've ever eaten at. Sometimes the burgers are fantastic, and sometimes they're downright awful, depending on the individual location.

In & Out was OK when I tried it maybe a decade ago, but agree it's not really something worth going out of your way for. Better than White Castle (which is another super-overrated burger joint), but that's not saying very much aside from most people have poor taste in food.

If I were to recommend a franchised burger restaurant, it would probably be Fuddrucker's (but even then I'd hesistate).

I love IC cards so much. In Japan, I have my suica, which can get around goddamn near any train, bus, or other public transportation in the country. It can also be used at essentially any convenience store, and a number of vending machines, along with plenty of situations I'm sure I've never heard of. In Taiwan, I have my EasyCard, which again, damn near any public transportation inside cities, and good coverage on intercity trains in the north of the island. Not only do convenience stores all take it, but so do a number of supermarkets, and I've even seen a few taxis that accept it now. The Library system has integrated their own IC card with the easycard system, so you can use the same card to check out books from the library; including "intelligent libraries", which are completely self-service libraries stuffed inside train stations and other areas with high pedestrian traffic. ALSO my easycard is also my student ID, so I use it for anything I need an ID for on campus, also including library entrance/exit/rental controls.

More often than not locally owned burger joints kick the crap out of the big franchised places. I'm not sure how widespread Blue Sky is, but they make a damn good burger, if only a little expensive. That said, homemade burgers are almost always better if you have even a little knowledge of what you're doing. Have a friend that has cookouts about once a month or so. He grinds and blends his own hamburger meat: 2 parts brisket, 1 part chuck, 1 part sirloin. These hamburgers haunt my dreams.

YM, five guys is way too expensive for what you get. They're not bad, just overpriced.

Sounds like a case of too many cooks in the kitchen.

How many guys does it really take to make a hamburger? Is one guy butchering the cow while another grinds the wheat, or what? How many man-hours am I paying for on this burger?

The only thing unusual about Five Guys is that they give you a mountain of french fries. The burgers themselves? Eh... maybe a shade above Checkers or the more recent "reinvention" of Wendy's, but not in the same class as a Fuddrucker's or even Johnny Rockets.

And in pops the girl who doesn't really like burgers - we have this little burger place right by where I used to work that makes these mini burgers, they're actually pretty good. I think it's called "Billy Jack's Burger Shack."

I love me some Wendy's, but as much as I like their burgers, they usually get passed over for their spicy chicken sandwich. Their salads are surprisingly good, too, on occasion.

Oh my god. I'm not much of a Glee fan, in fact I hardly ever watch it and have only caught a handful of episodes ever, but I knew the Cory Monteith tribute episode was tonight so I decided to watch and OH MAN I CANNOT COPE WITH ALL THESE FEELS.

Beautiful episode but yeah, I started crying basically like 20 seconds in.

/fuddruckers for best chain, johnny rockets is more of a retro date kind of thing to me, five guys is good when you can't be arsed. Has anyone mentioned red robin? I like red robin, but I don't go there for the burgers

Also, it took me well into my mid-twenties before I was even comfortable eating most meats. I was always really finicky about it and would not touch meat. So it's been a slow process.

Burger expert checking in! Five Guys and Red Robins are the go-to spots if you need a burger. If you disagree you can burn in Bowl of Embers (Tard Mode).

It's a good game but it involved a lot of grinding and the interface doesn't work too well on the iPhone. It might work better on the iPad though. The PSP versions are better though because the FFT controls really don't translate well to a touch screen, which leads to a lot of frustration.
